Get The Best Out of Your Electronic Drum Set with The Strike Drum Module The Strike Drum Module is by far the most versatile and capable module that Alesis has ever offered. A large measure of the amazing playability and character of this module is due to the expansive sound library with over 136 custom kits made from over 1800 instruments and 45,000 samples. The module has onboard sampling capability, 16GB external card storage, and USB/MIDI connectivity, which you can use in conjunction with your favorite music production software as well as the powerful Strike Software Editor. With this editor players can assemble their own custom samples into multiple velocity layer and round-robin instruments, piece together the perfect drum kit, and then transfer it onto the module via USB. Every feature and control is incredibly easy to keep track of, thanks to the Strike Drum Module’s 4.3-inch color LED screen, which displays all the player’s settings and choices at a quick glance. It adds up to unprecedented flexibility and programmability, combined with total mastery of the kit’s status.

A bit pricey, but the features it offers are unprecedented! I've had it for a month and it has definitely increased my playing time, and every day I learn something new!

I like this module (it is replacing a Roland TD-20 set brain, however, I didn't realize there are NO Aux Trigger inputs (none). Once you connect your pads & cymbals you have no Aux trigger inputs (for cowbell trigger, splash cymbal, roto toms, etc).I had to remove my Tom #4 and add splitter (for 2 Aux inputs)Alesis please add at least 2 Aux Trigger (TRS) inputs please!!Also, DO NOT use the included base mount, it is way too thin & flimsy (it bends just by pushing the buttons!) Get the one they sell here for $15 (heavy plastic) or the Gibraltar metal mount (they use same hole pattern). Luckily I had a metal Roland Octapad SPD-20 mount that fit fine.

I saw many people praising the sound, but since I was already using VSTs with samples dozen times bigger (this has a 200MB limit per kit), I wasn't impressed. It was better than my old module, but not as good as what you can achieve via midi. My biggest complaint is that my Alesis Surge pads and pedal aren't fully compatible, the pedal is especially problematic, no matter how many trigger settings I change. The rims barely work. The worst is that, if you finally set up your pads, you can't save their settings globally, only for one kit. Change to a next kit and start over...The editor app looks like something from 15 years ago and keeps losing connection. You can't even use it without plugging in the module... All this in a flimsy plastic box. I was dreaming about buying this module as a solution for all my trigger or sound needs and it disappointed. It's probably best used with a Strike SE kit. It was nice that they included the cables and the (plastic) mount with screws though. If you have a mac, make sure you download the app from the page of the whole kit, not the module on their site, they haven’t added the new version there for years.
