A great value, replaced a burnt out Dinan cat back, was too loud for everyday street use. pictures for comparison. Note i kept theclamps loose on install, started at the mating flanges and worked towards the rear with the muffler supported on a jack stand. The install went smooth, about 1.5 hours with just me swapping out the old without a lift. Note final tailpipe alignment is not perfect but I plan to make a couple adjustments. The dinan used a factory hanger assembly from the rubber muffler mount on the right side of the muffler standing at the rear of the car, this is deleted as the Alex system has a rigid metal hangar, in hindsight I’d bend this away from the center of the muffler by an inch or so to drive the tips center. Either way pics are from quick install to show how it bolts on. Application was a 1997 bmw 328i convertible with stock catalytic convertors and mid pipes. The exhaust note is much quieter than the cooked Dinan, can’t compare to stock as I’ve never had it. A good sound deeper and throatier but quiet enough for the neighbors. Old unit droned and rasped. A great value for the $$$!
