The valve port is supplied separately from the valve weight. It makes no sense whatsoever. So I purchased each item separately. And even after all of that, the nut required for installation is not supplied. What extra would it really cost?Nonesense

I ordered 2 of these vent stems along with their matching weighed pressure regulators to try them on my 2 American Canners & my 2 National canners. Absolute perfection fit & they work great. I'll definitely be ordering more & all my canners will be up & working safely once again. Great price & they arrived fast.

It fits my newly aqcuired 1947 AA No.7 Canner.A genuine item shipped from All American that replaces my flip valve for safer operation and pairs with the weight that you order seperately. The finish looks more like chrome than stainless steel and there are no blemishes. The threads are extremely precise and you might want to make sure the threads on your lid are clean using a small brush before screwing this in. These are tapered pipe threads so only screw it in until tight. DO NOT try to screw it in all the way or you'll likely ruin your aluminum lid.

It works, but wouldn't screw all the way in (like my newer All American canner) Combined with the weight i have to adjust an extra 5 lbs to get it to 10 lbs on the gauge, Better than the old relief valve but I still have to really keep an eve on the gauge as opposed to my newer canner

I got a old All American 921 pressure cooker and updated the vent pipe because it seemed a better way to keep the temperature where it needed to be …. Works great update your old foo foo vent now … thanks

I already owned two All American canners produced in the last couple of years, and purchased a third on EBay for a great price. However, it was several years old. What's the difference? The newest series of AA canners has not only the geared dial gauge on one side of the lid, but it also has the vent pipe shown that is made to hold a weighted gauge--a 'jiggler'--adjustable for 5, 10 and 15 pounds. This is much more convenient and reliable than depending on a gauge that can easily go out of calibration. The older AA canners for decades simply had a flip petcock on the lid across from the dial gauge; one would open it for the requisite 10 minutes of steam/air evacuation, then flip it down and start watching the gauge. With the 'jiggler' weighted gauge, one doesn't have to watch the canner at all; one just listens in earshot for the jiggling of the gauge a couple of times per minute.Fortunately, when my 'new' AA canner arrived, I quickly learned that it was a matter of a crescent wrench taking off the old petcock, replacing it with this new vent pipe, and now it's working exactly the same as my newest canner! I already had an extra weighted gauge, so I was able to start using it immediately. I'd heartily recommend that anyone with an older AA canner swap over to the newer system. It works better and it's more reliable, and not expensive, or hard, to do.
