For some reason, many auto makers are not putting transmission dip sticks on new vehicles. It makes it hard for regular folks to service their transmissions. This part was pretty easy to install. It took about 20 minutes. The hardest part was cutting the lines into the end for fluid level.

This is crap I'm pisd I just .may have ruined my transmission. Notice the pictures the steel colored one is the old stick and the black the new. It wasn't made for a 2010 f150 truck

This makes changing and checking the transmission fluid very easy. This was much cheaper than other ones and it is well made and works great.

At least on an S197 V6, don't know why it wouldn't on any other model with the 6R80.It is long, and there's 2 options for dealing with it.The first is to shorten it by about a foot, which doesn't look too difficult: cut off the crimp-clamo at the top, remove the flare fitting, trim the hose, and reinstall the fitting with a hose clamp. The dipstick cable itself can be shortened and spliced with a crimp or solder connection. The easy way is to merely rout it over to the driver's side as shown in the picture. It is a bit awkward for checking and filling fluid, but it's still workable. Is this a real B&M, despite the lack of a logo? The instructions refer to the "B&M" dipstick, and the build quality certainly seems up to their standards. However: the actual fluid level range on the end of the dipstick (which you have to mark yourself) sits kinda low. I suspect this might be a "factory second" that was dimensionally a bit off. If so, it doesn't really matter: it still works fine.An installation hint for the Mustang: You can install it cold by jacking up the car on the passenger side only. This tilts the fluid level away from the dipstick hole and should prevent any spillage when that cap is removed. In that position you can still get a usable fluid level reading with which you can calibrate your new dipstick. It's a bit tight in there, and installing it cold will likely prevent burning your hands on the front passenger side cat converter.

Product arrived on time and as described. It appears to be the B&M product. However it's not branded B&M, which is of no consequence to me. I installed this on my 2012 Ford 150, Ecoboost engine with the 6R80 transmission. It fit perfectly. The installation instructions (including color photos) were very adequate. I'm happy with my purchase, as well as the installation. I chose to fabricate a Z-bracket (the red bracket) to place the dipstick in a more favorable position from the firewall; making it more user friendly when using the dipstick tube to add ATF to the system. The remote dipstick is worth it to me. I also have an aftermarket transmission pan with a drain plug to facilitate draining a portion of the system and changing the filter, cleaning the pan & magnet each 50K miles or so, then topping off with fresh ATF; to keep the system relatively clean.

The adapter that take place of the original dipstick is to big and will not thread into the transmission and I can’t find an adapter the is the correct size so I’ll be sending back to find the right one
