I have an older X spring type phone holder in my car and recently update my phone which has a magsafe ring mount on the back. I ordered a magsafe mount but was not impressed with the base, but the ring used the 17mm diameter ball that is used on many GPS displays.This adapter let me attach my magsafe mount to my Ram ball and socket arm. This adapter is all metal with grooves similar to bolt threads cut into the ball ends. This did make for a very solid connection on both ends.Overall good fit and finish, and does the job.

I love these adapters and they hold so well. The design and quality of material are solid and these have become a solution for mounting fairly heavy studio equipment.The ribs on the balls add an additional level of grip when tightening the fastener. Great value.

Good quality adapter. I have RAM mounts installed on my boat and a phone mount that has a 17mm ball. This allows me to utilize my existing hardware without purchasing a new mount.

This is an all metal adapter with no rubber coating. Whether that works for you is going to be dependent on the type of mounts you use it with. It will probably work best with plastic ones. I imagine metal ones might end up leaving indentations by the time you tighten things down.

It's pretty simple but that's what you want with this ball mount. The ball ends are 25mm (1 inch) and 17mm (just under 3/4 inch) and have a slight texture that helps the mounts grip them when you tighen the hand nut. They fit nicely into standard sockets of those sizes.I used it to adapt a magnetic base with 3/4 inch socket, to a double 1 inch socket clamp, then to a 1 inch ball shock mount phone holder. I plan to use it for video on my 7.5" ride-on train. I trust this sturdy ball adaptor to hold up to all kinds of use.

On my Honda Goldwing motorcycle I have a couple of RAM 1" (25mm) mounts. The problem is I also wanted to run a Garmin GPS, which requires a 17mm ball. This adapter solves the problem in that it lets me attach the Garmin GPS to the RAM mount. It is quality aluminum, not flimsy plastic, so I have no concerns about tightening things down good. The measured dimensions of either side of the adapter are within tolerance. The current asking price here is very fair for this quality product.

Review of ”Aluminum 25mm/1 inch ball to 17mm ball adapter Compatible with RAM Mounts":(Please refer to my reviewing guidelines at the bottom of the page).We live on our 52' trawler style boat 100% of the time and travel/anchor out 99.99% of the time. We use ball mounts for many things on our trawler and on our tender (small boat). They work great for mounting electronics especially. Most of our mounts use a 1" ball but we also have many 1.5" for heavier items like monitors. The new cell phone and tablet holders seem to use the 17mm ball as pretty much standard so we use adapters like this one to convert the 1" (25mm) arms to the tablet and cell phone 17mm ball mounts.This is a good quality ball mount pretty much as it's described to be. We've done a bit of market research for these adapters and this one is priced lower than the average price by about a dollar.
