I mainly fly fish using Tenkara gear! I was looking for a small net as I mainly fish small, overgrown creeks for smaller, wild trout. This net fits the bill nicely! Small and compact with a rubberized net bag. One reviewer here gave it negative marks due to the elastic band on the end of the handle being detrimental to the way he attached it to his vest. I agree with that assessment except there is a simple solution! I attached one of the magnetic, spring coil net retainers with a zip tie on the net frame where it meets the handle! I then cut off the offending elastic strap! This setup is ideal and my preferred setup with other nets that I have owned! I can also easily switch out for my bigger net if I am in a stream with bigger fish! I would definitely purchase this net again!

When wading, I like to have a magnet on my net and a tether connected to the neck of my vest. With this net the connection point on the back is very elastic and you have to pull and stretch the material very far for the magnet to release which sends it flying kinda fast and scary! The net itself is made well, looks good, just wished it had a way to attach to my vest so I can pull it and detach the magnet without feeling like I am gonna rip my neck off stretching the elastic to what seems it’s breaking point to disconnect. The handle is foam so you can’t drill a screw in it to do some kind of hook or tie point. I’ll probably keep the net, cause I hate the hassle of returning, for bank fishing or something but probably won’t get much use out of it cause the connection point. Just gonna stick with my old wooden net and stick the netting up another couple seasons I guess!

Super light, very comfortable, the right size made out of quality material and performs very reliably. Looks great and works great and is reasonably priced. This is a great net!

I am an avid fly fisherman and was in need of a new net. I bought one last year, but the smallest I could find was still rather large and cumbersome for my needs, fishing for trout in small streams. I came across this and was very excited. The size is perfect. The average size trout that I catch is rather small, so I really don't have a need for a larger net. This size is perfect and much easier to carry around while wading in the stream. The rubberized net is a lot better for the health of the fish, when catch and releasing. The old fabric style nets remove a lot of the fish protective covering which is bad for their health. Great net, I'm very satisfied.
