My wife and I are doing our best to set foot in every State Park in Texas, so our weekends usually involve trees, dirt, and the occasional stubborn tent stake. For years, I stubbornly hauled around this old rubber mallet that always managed to disappear when I needed it most. After getting this camping hammer, I’m honestly wondering why I didn’t make the switch sooner. The first thing I loved about it is how light it is, especially compared to that mallet I’ve dragged all over the Panhandle. I wasn’t expecting that.Camping in Texas means you’re putting stakes in everything from soft sand down on the coast to rock-hard clay out west. This hammer held up well against every bit of it. I especially like the added hooks and the claw on the back – finally, something strong enough to pull up tent stakes after a rainy night. I probably save myself five minutes and a lot of frustration every time I break down camp. The bright orange handle is brilliant. I usually spend a ridiculous amount of time wandering around my camp looking for my tools, but there’s really no way to lose this thing unless I do it on purpose. Only used it for a couple of trips so far, but it’s already become the tool that lives in my camping tote. If you do a lot of tent camping and want something simple that actually works, I’d happily recommend this hammer.

It’s a torrential downpour. The storm of the century arrived a day early. Kids are screaming in the car, your back and neck hurt from the cheap air mattress, and you want nothing more than to pack up and leave. Is there no hope? No relief? Suddenly an orange glimmer appears on the horizon. It gets brighter. Warmer. The sun? No, it’s better. It’s your LATTHANT Aluminum Camping Hammer. You wield the hammer like Thor himself and begin to rip away tent stakes from the earth. Without the hammer, you would be left to scrape out the stakes like a peasant scraping crumbs off the floor of the king’s feast. The hammer made a difficult situation much easier by providing some relief for an otherwise difficult task. The hammer is very high quality for the price.

I've used these before without the comfort grip and I'm never going back. It's just a nice feature. We use these a lot to take down our canvas tent and it's really good to have my own, especially one so nice. The other tenters are jealous. I told them to get a grip! But seriously it is very very nice to have.

Anyone that goes camping knows how much of a pain it is to get tent stakes out, especially if the ground is hard. This tool makes it easier to grab it with the hook end or dig it out and pull with the claw side, better than a regular hammer for sure. It will even come in handy in the winter with all my Christmas inflatables!Only concern is the rivets that hold it together.Hope it goes on sale as there are others that are similar for cheaper.

Love this hammer! It is solidly made, fully metal, has lots of little features, and I love the high vis color so it won't get misplaced/lost on the campsite. Very happy with this as a dedicated camping hammer.

Tent stakes are the worst thing about camping for me. If the ground is tough enough to need a tool I usually do not have something appropriate handy. Which usually leads to a lot of swearing and sometimes damage to something that I should not have used. Lol.But when I saw this I just had to get it. It seems to be very nicely machined and assembled. It has a nice heft to it, but it is not unreasonably heavy. The surface of the hammer has a decent size so you can be confident of a solid hit. The stake pulling part just makes this awesome. My only concern is that the handle is riveted to head. So that is going to be a lot of stress on that point. But it feels solid as it is. I would just be sure not to use this as a true hammer, I do not think it could withstand that environment.

I was happily surprised when this hammer/tool arrived. I ordered it as an upgrade from the hammer I typically take for my camping stakes. I was afraid this was going to be too light compared to my old hammer, but the weight is actually perfect! The handle is a light aluminum but the head and puller hook are both a heavier steel. The build quality seems solid and it looks great. I like the red strap as a safety measure and a way to hang/store the tool. I am not sure if I will keep it on, but I think it is clever at the very least. I added some grip tape to the handle as without the strap, and a wet hand/handle, this thing would almost certainly go flying with a good swing. It was priced at $16.99 at the time of this review, and I think that is a great price for the quality and versatility of the tool. As of right now, I would 100% recommend this!

This is a great buy for camping or outdoor use. We never take a real hammer so we always end up using the blunt end of an axe, which is not super safe... but this is lightweight and perfect for packing and travel. It has two ways to hang it, plus the strap is also good for carrying. Looking forward to using this more during the summer!
