Ordered another more popular option from Amazon first for my John Deere 445 prior to ordering this one. The studs were too long to fit the solenoid in the started and engage the solenoid. This one fit perfect and went right in! Order this for a JD 425/445 and it'll makenfor an easy install.

So this starter solenoid fits perfect on my John Deere 425 lawn tractor and works fine. Bad news, it didn't fix my problem so I need a whole new starter DOH! Oh well this will be attached to the new starter when it gets here and I suspect it will just work like it is now. I will report back if anything goes funky when I get the starter. WAY cheaper than the brand name and feels solid and well built so should last a long time without breaking the bank.

I got this to try and fix a starting issue with a mid 1990's John Deere 425 I have. It takes multiple turns of the key to get the starter to engage the flywheel. I was hoping it was the solenoid, but it doesn't appear to be. This solenoid works well however, and my original likely needed to be replaced so that worked in my favor. Unfortunately, I'm still trying to sort out my starting problem.

Terminals were on slightly different position than my kubota starter but was able to make it work.
