It's bigger than what I needed, but that's my fault for not doing more research on the size my son was going to need for practice. As I see it, if he practices with a bigger one, he will throw the smaller one farther.

It's a hard, solid rubber discus and it's inexpensive. No problems at all. What more do you need to know? My daughter wanted one since she joined track and this was the ticket.I'm thinking of buying another so she can keep one at her mother's house as well.
