i needed something I can pack and still big enough to make it usable. Doing portraits of my fiance, and I am not GOOD with portraits, but, having read some good books i got here ON Amazon, I knew I needed some help with lighting.Ive used bounce before in years past, but havent had the variety to try different light effects.I would say it might be helpful to you to have 1 or two small( cheap ) tripods on hand, that way you can set up multiple bounce reflectors, and do it on your own, as i did.I had enough light usually, so i used my tri pod as a holder for a reflector, and used the variable heights to give me some extra creative ability to move the light to other places ( thought of that on my own, proud to say ). If you have a person to help, you dont need that, but, it was me , myself and I, doing my fiances travel portraits.a BIGGER reflector in some instances, might have been nice, but, really over all, for the limited space I had, and wanting to keep size small and portable, and we arent talking studio shots, just " travel photos with some snap".. or a bit more, this was a great size for me to use..I could easily see my buying another set for my upcoming trip to Milan, so I can double the color effects, as there were times i wish i had two of this or that reflector, to have a more even cross light reflection going on.i think i will anyway... too reasonably priced, and just such a good size and bargain. As for longevity...???? cant say... only used a few times, not something i "reach for" constantly, so as long as you dont abuse them, let them get blown around/exposed to high winds, dropped, slid onto pavement or gravel, they should have some life in them..pay 3x the price, you might get 2x the quality.. not necessarily 2x the use though. imho..
