Ive had the system for 3 yrs now. Only had 5 cameras set up out of the 8 that I can use. I ran into a bit of an issue with installing 2 new cameras on the network. Supposed to be plug and play, but takes a little work setting up new cameras. The internal config is alright but I have an extra POE switch setup with uses my internal network address setup, which made the plug and play easier. The NVR set the camera up with a 10.1.1.x IP and my internal IP seemed to identify the cameras faster and assign an IP quicker.I called into tech support and worked with James V. He was awesome and super helpful. Walked me through a few things and since I am in IT, he talked with me on my level and explained things clearly. That made the experience even better. Once we worked through the issues, everything is working as it should now. I will say that some training videos or better documentation on how the IP setup is done within the NVR would be good (For some that might be a little more advanced). I researched before calling in but couldnt find what I was looking for on the FAQ or Google search. Working with James V, guided me and gave me some helpful tips.I would give it 5 stars but if Amcrest can update the FAQ or documents to help the more advanced users, I would change the overall rating. Other than that, really good system that has served me well and kept my home secure.

Has worked flawlessly since day 1. Awesome video quality. The app is responsive and really does help access the system quickly. Hard drive is very easy to upgrade if needed. There is a bit of a learning curve with app features and system setup, but once you're setup, it works easily. One caveat is that I had to purchase a couple of lengths of CAT5 cable & couplers in order to reach the NVR because some of the cable lengths provided were not long enough for our small home. Overall, I would rate setup & installation difficulty at MODERATE since there is definitely some hole drilling, cable anchoring & cable routing involved, but is nothing that the average person couldn't handle with a little patience. And the setup instructions are not easy to understand in some places so please read and re-read the instructions.

Great picture quality. The install took me awhile running the cables and then one of the cables decided to go bad. The Ethernet cables provided are super cheap and are the flat design. Not good to be exposed to the elements or much heat or cold. Im currently doing a replacement for one of the cables and hope to receive it soon so I can install the last camera.

Two phone calls and I have one camera working. Jason was very helpful and configured everything remotely since I had previously been told I could do everything via my iPhone. It took him about 10 minutes and I am extremely happy. The picture is very clear and sharp. I am looking forward to seeing how it works at night.

This is my second security camera system from Amcrest. The other system had turret style cameras. The cameras look high quality, typically easy setup, clear video day or night, good remote viewing software, love the ability to configure remotely from web browser so I don't have to connect monitor and mouse to the NVR in a cramped closet. One issue is that the Amcrest Surveillance Pro app crashes frequently. Overall very satisfied. I recommend the turrets over the bullets for two reasons: audio and mounting flexibility.

There was a lot to like about this system. The camera's were clear and night vision was really good.The zoom function was great. The software was easy to use and intuitive.But two systems had the same exact issue.The major issue, and this is after returning the first one and getting a replacement with the exact same issue, is the preview panes. The 1-4 or 5-8 preview pane has a video formatting issue that causes the preview in the top left corner to blur. You can tell this very easy by focusing all four cameras on one object and zooming in the preview pane to the same object. In the other three previews it is very clear. In the top left corner it's all blurry and completely un-usable. To be fair, it does not do this in the main camera view and I was going to overlook this obvious flaw in the software when I realized that it actually was not recording in this frame. It would give me an out of bounds type error on a black screen.The second issue is much more serious and would keep me from ever doing business with this company again. My NVR was not connected to the internet in any way. I made this very clear to the tech department both times. But both times they wanted unfettered access to my computer. I told them that the NVR was not connected to my computer and they said it did not matter. I offered to connect the NVR to the net so they could access it that way since it has this option, and they told me they could not do it and needed access to my computer anyway.Please understand what they are doing here. They want unfettered access to your computer even though it has nothing to do with the NVR. When I brought this up, they kept making accuses trying to push me to allow them access. I flat out told them there was no way in you know where they were getting on my computer and that is when they told me to just send it back to Amazon. These people were from India from what I could tell from the accent, and completely reminded me of the scammers you listen to on the phone.The second major issue with this company is the warranty. When I tried to have one of the camera's replaced because it had a blurry view on one side. I had to spend almost 45 minutes talking to a low level tech, only to be told I would be called back later. Then after getting through all the questions of the second tech, I had to fill out a bunch of information on their web site. When I got to the end of that RMA process it very clearly said that if the unit was older than 30 days it would not be replaced. So if I had been over the 30 days of time from purchase I would have been SOL.30 DAYS WARRANTY PEOPLE!!!!!! Let that sink in for a minute.I immediately stopped the RMA process, packed it up and shipped it back to Amazon.I will never do business with this company again. STAY AWAY!!
