Your cart is empty.American Easel's wooden panels, our alternative to the standard canvas, gives you a firm painting surface and does not allow flexing or stretching as standard canvases do. The face of each panel is made from top quality birch and the frame is constructed of a smooth solid wood cradle (frame around the back) which provides a strong foundation, ensures against warping, and makes for easy hanging. Smooth sanded edges allow your creation to flow beyond the face of the panel. Wooden panels are quickly becoming the preferred surface for many artists.

Very easy to sand and prime, very sturdy and well made. I used gesso and acrylic paint and I was pleased with the result, will be ordering more.

ood quality wood at an affordable price. These are not paint ready as they do not have a primer. You will need to apply some sort of primer or your paint will be absorbed by the wood. I have been using American Easel wood panels for a few years now and I wouldn't choose any other brand.

I must be doing something wrong but when I tried to paint on this after I sanded it down and gesso it.....it still sucked up all the paint. I pass on wood canvas.

Wonderful panels, you do need to seal them or gesso. I used for encaustic and ran into some problems on a couple with very large air bubbles coming thru. I think there is a chemical or something in the finishing of the wood as there was an odd shine in places....but I think if you sealed both sides with glue, gesso or paper you would be OK.

the 12 X 12 seemed old & was stained with green. Otherwise this would get 5 stars because the wood & finish is nice.

Loved these, created my own art for my room, at a fraction of the cost of other options, and had professional results. As an artist I make these myself often, but it's nice to have a quality shortcut from time to time.
