This ice pick can be use to break through high-density ice and has been fashioned into a sharp metal point to further expedite the process of freeing ice. Made of steel material. This pick will break those chunks apart to free up ice space and to keep your bar running efficiently. Measures 8-5/8-inch length.

Great little tool. I did get a cork for the end (Safety first you know) But it is well built and solid.

Beyond the generic ice pick, the prices for good design and craftsmanship go very high. This one is priced reasonably. The metal trim piece between the wood handle and the pick was loose, but was easily glued in place.

This is the standard ice pick your parents (or maybe grandparents) used. I have had no problems with it. The construction seems sturdy, and the pick has shown no tendency to bend while breaking ice. The finish on the wooden handle so far has held up well. The low price also makes this ice pick attractive.I gave it three stars for the following reasons:1) The handle is not ergonomic. You can see from the picture that it flares out at the top, and has a metal cap. I suspect that is so that the pick can be used with a hammer and your hand is somewhat protected, but I have never seen anyone use an ice pick with a hammer. Ice is just not that hard to break. It should be flared at the bottom of the handle, to prevent your hand slipping down the handle when you strike the ice block.2) There is no protective sheath for the pick. Granted it's not a sharp blade, but the pick end is pointed enough to cause injury and it should be sold with a sheath.

The quality appears to be good, but the assembly was not. The retainer ring at the handle-end of the pick fell off as I took it out of the bag. It can be repaired with some glue, but not what you want to have happen as you open the bag.

I looked and looked at the stores for what I thought was a simple need for an ice pick and couldn't find one. This pick is just what I was looking for and I really like the handle on this particular pick.
