First of all, the seller is stellar and I’ll give an A+. This speaker has a really nice warm, punchy tone and good power handling. My son has a Hartke Sidekick 12-120 watt bass amp and with his type of aggressive playing, finally damaged his speaker. I was looking to replace it with the same but Hartke stop making the speaker cause this amp is the first and obsolete version of this model. Look around the web and stumbled upon this speaker on Amazon. Before buying, I looked at the specs, agreed with what I read and purchased. If you’re looking for a replacement speaker for a Hartke sidekick 12-Version 1, this a good sounding speaker and the price is right.

I was looking for a replacement for my Roland kc-300 this speaker works great a much better sound. These kc series of amps tend to have a lot of bass so you kinda have to tone it down a bit. I have been though 2 speakers they just can't handle the deep bass one was the original and the other was from a peavy pa speaker box both speakers worked but could not hold up so I decided to look around and found this one which to be honest sounds a lot better handles a little more bass lets say it raddles the grill. I use this amp with my keyboards.....

I have a KLH 5001 three way speaker (12" driver with 12" passive radiator) and wanted to replace the 12" driver.I want to replace the crossover in the box but will say that this is a great speaker for the price.Follow up to clarify: They did not work well for my application. They did not move the passive radiator. I bought some Morels with way more "excursion" movement.

I bought 2 of these speakers for my Peavey powered monitor speakers. The old speakers had a lot of miles on them and they weren't even a matched set of 12" drivers. I replaced the old speakers with these and it made a huge difference. Now my monitors are louder and have a much better frequency response. The old speakers were dull and lifeless. Now, even higher frequencies come out clear and vibrant. I think these would sound great in a bass cabinet as well. They handle 250 watts and are very efficient. I highly recommend.

I’ve been putting eminence Betas in my bass cabinets for a long time, for almost 20 years at this point. The 4x12 I built is still going strong after 6-7 years. I put some in a 2x15 Randall cab in 2003 and it has been passed down through a few different people and is still going strong, despite many tours and a lot of use.I run a lot of power and push these speakers hard and they just keep going. Did I mention the tone yet? Smooth, great bottom end (even on that low A or B) and crisp midrange that gives my distortion a great crunch without being harsh. So what else would I choose for my latest build?I have a 1x15 cab that needs a driver, so I will be ordering another one soon. Thanks, Eminence!

I design and build my own line of guitar amps, most for myself but I also sell a few. I recently designed an acoustic amplifier for a customer, someone with a very keen ear and a touchy back. After trying a number of different speaker solutions, we eventually settled on this speaker, the Beta 12A, in a vented but tightly stuffed cabinet just large enough for the speaker and an ASD-1001 tweeter with the one way 3.5k crossover. The sound for acoustic guitar with the tweeter disabled is very solid and has excellent balance due to the excellent HF response of the Beta. But with the tweeter engaged it becomes heavenly, adding all that nice sparkle.Since deep bass response wasn't required, the box was heavily stuffed to make up for its small size and this beautifully compensated for the lack of internal volume. The sound isn't boomy like some acoustic amps, but it's buttery smooth and clear, with nice warmth. After doing the acoustic amp, I had to have these in my home hifi setup. I built a stereo receiver based on my power amplifier design and rebuilt a pair of used PA speakers using the Beta 12A's and the ASD-1001 tweeters with the 3.5k two way crossover. For the hi-fi speakers, I added a little extra polyfill to make sure the bass reflex wasn't too strong. The result was stunning. Bass response is beautiful, the clarity is unreal. For the money, you couldn't get a better set of speakers for home music playback. The only downside to these, and I had to dig to find one, is that they're sensitive enough that I had to beef up the power supply bulk capacitance on my home hi-fi to avoid hearing any hum. They are very sensitive, moreso than your average audiophile speakers. There's absolutely no concern about they masking low volume details in music.I'm extremely happy with this speaker and it's my default choice for any music application with the exception of electric guitar. They clearly are very versatile and excellent value.

AMAZING! I put this in a guitar amp, and now it can play bass and keys, drum machines...whatever I throw at it.How many people have you seen with a guitar cab that plays electric guitar and electric bass from the same speaker cabinet? I haven't seen it, until now!I can even play mp3's through this guitar cab and because of this speakers range. It's one hell of a boom box.For those of you wondering my AMP is the line 6 Amplifi. The speaker it it was wonderful, but NOW....this setup is SOOOOO DAMN GOOD! I am planning on buying 2 more to replace the 12's in my PA. They are good, but NOT this good!BUY THIS SPEAKER. It's great out of the box but then it's starts to warm up as it breaks in and ..."I've got to admit it's getting better, it's getting better all the time!"

I used this speaker to modify a guitar amp for use with a bass. The amp was a Fender Princeton 650 (65 watt) and the results were fantastic. Even with the open backed cabinet the bass response was very deep and full. I'm not an expert but am extremely satisfied with the quality and sound of this product and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to modify or upgrade their amp.
