As a property adjuster handling water losses, by far the best moisture meter I've used. It provides good readings to determine the level of moisture. If this device could take readings with or without pin use, it would be outstanding.

Cannot be used on walls because of the curves in the back. Will not lay flat for accurate readings. Not product for commercial work

There should be more photos of this unit than two face ones. Also it should be clearly noted that this unit only detects by use of the pins and has no non destructive test feature. The more expensive model which has this feature and is the best for contractor use is no longer available unfortunately.

How did I ever inspect homes without this device? Long story short, this device is a must for a home inspector. Costly enough to depend on and know you have quality, but cheap enough for every inspector to afford. Finally I can easily show a client when wood is wet enough to rot. The green, orange, red lighting is brilliant. It shows up in my inspection photos and is easy to explain. Green means okay, yellow means a little wet, red means wet enough to rot. Highly recommended to all home inspectors.

I'd thought by looking at the picture of the product and by quickly scanning the description that this is a no-pierce meter, but it's not. My fault for reading the description too hastily. Returned this and got the Protimeter BLD5765 Aquant Non-Invasive Moisture Meter instead. Haven't tested that yet.

This is a must have for any inspector that goes into a crawl space. Since using this device my sales numbers have increased due to the data you can give customers. Good for checking your own crawl as well for conducive conditions for termites and other pests, wood decay fungi and mold. It's expensive but worth it.

The moisture meter works well so far--I've tested both the built in probes, and the extension probe. It came with a storage pouch, two extra replacement probes, and a calibrating tool (although it isn't used to calibrate it, but to see if the meter is calibrated). Oh, and batteries. My only beef with it is that the storage pouch is fairly cheap, and it's just barely long enough to fully close with the meter inside. I'd prefer a zipper closing pouch rather than the velcro. I'm afraid with the velcro, the sides are open, and if I keep the calibrating tool or the spare probes could easily fall out. I'm keeping them someplace else, but wish I didn't have to.It'd be such a better choice, and 5 stars, if the carrying pouch was of better quality.

Well done. Excellent display. A handsome tool to boot.Be careful when removing or inserting the battery. (I store less-often-used tools with the battery removed, in case the battery leaks.)* The two contacts are identical and the molded battery polarity indication is hard to see. The good news is that putting the battery in backwards doesn't blow out the meter (guess how I know.)* Takes quite a bit of force to get the battery out. I put a small screwdriver in with the meter,* If removing or inserting the battery, be sure the cap is in place. It would be easy to stab yourself! Those are minor quibbles. This is a very fine tool.
