Seems like a quality tool. Reads exactly the same as in-series Fluke meter. Not a huge deal, but I felt it’s worth mentioning that no case was included with the LH41A as indicated in the product description.

I had a AEMC CM605 meter before this. It worked fine for AC, but drifted pretty wildly for any DC measurements, sometimes shifting by something like 50-100 mA while just sitting there on the desk for 5 minutes. The Amprobe clamp is dramatically better, and actually lets you take measurements of low DC currents with confidence. But gotta say, this unit has the most cumbersome battery compartment of any gadget in recent memory. Opening it is a pain, cramming in a new battery is a pain, and there's plenty of opportunities to accidentally damage the battery clip leads when putting it back together. It's not something you have to do often, but what the heck, Amprobe?

This current probe is unusual in the clam shell halves. There are small metal fingers that interleave from each half.I had trouble closing the clamp and found that several of the fingers had bent and grouped together instead of being interleaved. I bent them so that they line up and are OK now. I wouldn't expect to have to "fix" a $300 instrument right away.Other that that, the clamp works well and is allowing me to isolate leakage currents as claimed.

Very good product, but I think Fluke is better Brand. In the side there is a switch to change frequency and the quality of it is not good. Is cheap switch and easy to move. Bad place to install it. All of them materials is good quality.

This is a nice little ammeter! I was specifically looking for a clamp-on ammeter that would measure low DC currents accurately, so I purchased this. Tested it against a Fluke calibrator and it looks like it's very accurate down to 50ma DC, but measurement smaller than that is not reliable or repeatable. Another key feature for us is the auto shutdown, which also works well saving precious batteries. It has no problems measuring the higher currents either, but there's a lot of meters out there that do that.

Would be nice if the hole was a little larger but maybe it needs to be small

Beware! There are LH41A reviews under the AC50A entry. The AC50A is an ac only probe, it will not work on dc and is useless for automotive work. I use the AC50A on 5 Amp ac protective relay circuits. It is excellent for low currents, it will detect and resolve 10 microAmps and is very accurate for higher currents.

The LH41A is a tool that is recommended by Honda and Acura to diagnose causes of parasitic draw on the vehicle battery, I was extremely pleased to find one here on Amazon for a reasonable price compared to other websites and tool distributors. It has performed flawlessly and has saved me time and hassle when having to work with sub par shop tools.
