The term Wide Field is subjective. My 10xWF (wide field) is actually wide field. The 5x should have a wider field of view just by the fact that it is half the magnification of the 10x, but it doesn’t. My 10x has the same field of view as the 5x. No use using a 5x as it doesn’t show any more area. I returned them.

I bought a AmScope T490B-DKO, and I upgraded it with a AmScope 20X Plan Achromatic Objective and a AmScope A60X 60X Achromatic Microscope Objective. I asked Richard (from the Amazon community) if 5x would show more than a 10x, and yes in the narrow technical sense, you do see more, but it is a much smaller field of view. My guess is that the field is 20 percent more but in half the overall angle. It is like looking through a tunnel. I almost sent it back, but kept it for two reasons, big insects (with 5x4 rather than 10x4) and those larger magnifications (5x60). The charge for sending it back was $3.42, and it seems the price rose from $31.99 to $42.26, so I decided to keep it. If I had spent more for my microscope I would have gotten 30mm eyepieces, and the situation would be much better. With only 23 mm to work with, not much can be done on the low end.

Returned them the next day. Like looking through a tunnel. Not suitable for 120 series scope.
