This splash guard works too well as a splash guard in that it does not allow food waste to easily go into the drain without removing it. I wondered why the original installer of the garbage disposal made a larger opening in the center. Now I know the answer. It works fine if you do that minor cutting. The problem is that it then weakens the splash guard & it will need to be replaced sooner. Also it is really as pain to constantly remove it to push the food scrapings into the disposal. The other problem is that it won't allow water to go down into the disposal quick enough and I sometimes have to insert a utensil to widen the opening to get the water started. I haven't made the opening wider ye, hoping that it will loosen up over time.

Actually works unlike the crap Home Depot sold me. Soft and pliable so it sucks down the gross stuff instead of holding it and all the water in the sink.

These things are an odd size & hard to find. We couldn't find them in stores. These fit perfectly although a bit tight at first, but not a problem. Glad to find them. One thing we noticed...they may tend to dry out & shrink u and possibly dry-rot if not used for a period of time.
