I am impressed with the quality, design, and appearance of these small bowls. They are lightweight, almost like aluminum, but do not feel cheap like aluminum when held in the hand. The metal has an eye-catching sheen, but without being gaudy. It's not a mirror finish, being slightly matte. The bowls are embossed with a sophisticated floral pattern. If you look closely at the very bottom, there is a design of a frog with some Thai text above which I unfortunately am not literate in. They are sturdy bowls which cannot be deformed easily by squeezing with the hand. The bowls come as a set of 2. I am using one as a catch-all dish, it's a great size for that purpose. It can easily hold keys and other things that go into one's pocket. It's not big like a soup bowl. Its capacity is similar to that of a coffee mug except its form is shorter and wider. The interior of the bowl is the same material as the exterior, neither appear to have any coating and instead are presumably raw tin. The metallic appearance is consistent with that of tin, which is considered to be food-safe. However I do not have any lab testing tools to be sure of its purity. But since I am using them for non-food purposes, I have no concerns about that.
