Gleedeal's furniture protector and cat scratch pad material is made from a Polyester, Cotton Blend, and comes with several fastening options. It has a comfotable feel, but it is thin (1/8 inch), which was not an issue for me as I planned to place pieces back-to-back (1/4 inch), using the peel-off self adhesive backing to fasten them together. I was able to cut four pieces and make two back-to-back scratch pads to replace pads our cat had torn apart. They are attractive in appearance, with a bit of extra cushion due to the double thickness, and if she destroys one side they can be flipped over for a brand new side. We did not need this protector for our furniture as we already have clear, self-adhesive, furniture protectors on our furniture. I can see all kinds of creative uses for this product in our home (it is classy/professional-looking) and endless opportunities for the person who likes to make custom cat "activity centers". We are very pleased with this product and plan to use it again.

I've been looking for something to cover my dad's recliner with so my cat's don't destroy it like they did my previous one. I've tried a couple of the different plastic coverings and I just don't like them. My mom said to try something like carpet because it will last longer and she uses something similar all the time to recover old scratching posts and cat stands. I really like this. It's a thin but sturdy carpet. I like how it feels. It looks nicer than plastic. It comes with a few different fastener options. (Or you can used your own.) If it lasts for a while I will definitely be back for more.

Applied this to a few couch edges and the to a cat tower missing some carpets. The material is coarse enough to redirect to still be satisfying to scratch on, but seems to protect the couches pretty well. Trims cleanly to size with scissors. Backing adhesive is surprisingly strong so far. On the cat tower, I put staples in it, as they claw that hard. Doesn’t look great, but it’s effective. If you care more about saving the furniture than aesthetics, this works. The cats are going to scratch either way, so this will at least prolong the life of the couch.

Added this to the corners of my couch that my furbaby likes to use as a scratching post. Color wasn't a perfect match but I like it better than the "clear" version that just looks like what your grandma covered her furniture with. There was enough in one roll to cover my exposed corners. I think the only concern is that it won't discourage your cat from scratching, so when you don't have this in place your furniture may be in jeopardy. It has a nice thickness and can be trimmed to the size you need to get the most out of the roll. Works with both leather or fabric sofas and includes attachments for either.

This was a great rescue for our cat- damaged comfy chair. The backing is super sticky and I'd recommend cutting it completely to shape before removing the protective film, otherwise it will stick to the scissors and be impossible to cut. The package includes some little tape tabs you attach to the edge of the protective film in order to remove it, and those worked very well. The little fabric screws worked well to secure the corners to the plush areas. I think this is best used to repair older furniture, as the adhesive might damage the finish on a new leather or vinyl surface when it's removed.
