I needed a 1" ball with a 1/4-20 thread for a motorcycle mount I wanted to add to the bike and this one looked perfect.It's smooth and appears to be very strongIt has a o-ring around the center of the ball, which helps it stay in place in the clamp mount.The bottom of the piece has a flat ring around the screw to keep it from scratching my finish on my brake mount.It works perfectly with my RAM mount that I got to mount my action camera.For the price, I'll be picking up another one for my Ranger UTV

Good quality. I like the O-ring that's across the center of the ball to help it grip. I do not like the fact that it has a independent screw to secure it to your application, instead of being one piece. My intended use is for mounting my GoPro to a mount on my Kayak while being obviously in the middle of nowhere. Its often that you'd like to take the camera off this ball and mount to a selfie stick. So, you cant just twist it off by hand. You'll have to keep up with the small Allen wrench to remove it, or tighten it.

This is a simple, easy to use mount with a anti-slip ring to keep your gear locking in once tightened down. I have several arms that this fits into an they all tighten easily and keep locked in place with this. I like the all metal build and the overall quality. This is a great piece for your kit.

All metal except for the grip rings on the ball. DO NOT try to twist the ball without loosening the socket or you can tear the silicone grip rings. Good, well made part

This 1” ball adapter by Mechrig is impressively well machined. It comes with thoughtful extras like a spare rubber o-ring and an included Allen key, which is great for snugging down the 1/4-20 screw or taking the assembly apart if needed. It’s fully compatible with all my other 1” ball and clamp setups, so integration was seamless. Solid build, smooth operation—no complaints here.

Works with all my other dive camera/light balls. I can't tell any difference. Just not the big expensive name attached to it.
