Did some research and concluded that Miller CAT Shield is the way to go since the Toyota dealership recommended it, so I ordered one but got lazy and didn't install it for a few months .... Finally, I went to the OEM website for a local certified installer and took the shield to the recommended muffler shop and the dude took 20 minutes to install it for $120. The total costs came to $340 for a quality and secured shield. Now I sleep well at night knowing that my CAT is protected. I recommended it to my neighbor and he jumped at the deal.

I like this product. This is an essential product if you own a Prius. I am well pleased, offers really good protection and coverage and even the mounting bolts require a key. I am very thankful with this product

I got this over the aluminum bc of the stainless steel. Much more protective!

The stainless steel Miller CAT shield is the ONLY third-party shield available from every Toyota dealer for a very good reason. It is THE BEST possible protection against theft. Yes, there are cheaper options available, made with cheaper materials and lacking the precision fit and protection that this one offers. Trust me, this is the one you want. And no, I am not paid for this review! I paid full price for my shields.

After researching these CAT anti theft shields thoroughly, these were clearly the best design and easiest to install. No drilling, all bolt on with security bolts I liken to wheel locks. A spacer is designed into the design to keep the shield from rattling against any chassis parts as I’ve read other units rattle after install. It’s my understanding that MillerCAT is the manufacturer used by Toyota dealers that install CAT shields. I got the stainless steel unit, costs a bit more but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I could’ve installed myself but didn’t have a safe way to lift the car, so after trying several mechanics that were going to overcharge (up to $250) to install I found an honest shop that charged me $50 and it took them around 15-minutes to install.American made!!!

I bought the stainless steel version, very easy to install, no need to pay a professional for this DIY job, no holes to drill. Even though the tamper proof screws need a special and unique bit when there's the need to be removed, the safer way to go is to tack weld the screws. Protect your cat, you don't want to pay over 2k dollars for the replacement nor wait more than 4 months for it.

This SS sheild will not be easy to bypass without special tools and lots of noise and time. Make sure you buy the short handle rivnut tool as the clearance is low. The install took longer to get the car up high enough on jack stands than th time to installation. The install is straight forward yet a bit tricky working under the car. I have no doubt that the SS sheild is a great deterrence and protection of from cat theft.

I read an article that catalytic converters were being stolen off the Prius in large numbers in our town: 3 minutes in shopping mall parking lots. I was very concerned about my daughter's 2013 Prius so I bought the Millercat shield. I paid extra for this one because it was stainless steel and not aluminum. It is relatively easy to saw through aluminum, but not stainless steel. My mechanic put it on and showed us what it looked like under the car on a lift. It was tidy and fit well, completely protecting the converter. He commented that the design template was well done. I don't expect that it would stop a determined thief, but considering that most thieves are lazy, i think it would encourage them to go on to an easier target. I did ask my mechanic to put some buffering heat shield material between the shield and the car since I read that they often rattle. No problems!
