Anytone knocked it out of the park as usual. Ordered a 168 and got my license in the same week. The radios menu system is very straight forward and easy to use. The CPS is also very easy to use when learning DMR. The built quality is excellent. Amazing value for the money.

"That's one small step for a ham, one giant leap for our hobby."Pros: incredibly lightweight and very long lasting battery. USB-C rechargeable and programmable. Beating Yeasu FT5D and Anytone 878 hands down! Bridgecom University comes for free! I have been roaming US and EU like a breeze.Cons: no Bluetooth nor GPS. Unfortunately, only 250 roaming channels!

Got the radio with high expectations since both of my 6x2's work great.Plug radio in to usb and nothing, nada, zip. Moreover, it killed the usb port until I restarted the computer.Bridgecom tech support really tried to help and speedily-kudos to them! I can't fault that.Update: I chanced another radio. Be aware that I could not program it with either Microsoft tablet I have. When I used a laptop everything went fine including firmware update. So I'm gonna say that you'll need something other than a tablet to program it.The poor squelch sensitivity of the 878 is absent here... YAY!!! Weak signals come through fine and it is pleasant to listen to. CTCSS reverse burst works so no squelch tail. Nice! No listener fatigue. Great receiver. Nice chunky feel and build quality is good. You can import channel, zone, etc. info (csv's) from the 878 so that makes short work of programming if you have one already.

The price is perfect if you don't mind having a radio that is completely locked. Take it from someone who's been dealing with VHF UHF Motorola triple trunk systems just spend $400 and get a programmable icom. The amount of effort you have to go through trying to get the software to download it's just cheaper to get a cloning cable and a software disc for any name brand radio. I've never bought one of these, I'll never buy another one again. If you don't know what I mean by an unlocked radio when you buy a UHF or VHF radio it's already been coded meaning the radio is approved by the FCC for part 90 this radio is not.
