This is an elegant weapon for a more civilized age. Which means that these days, applications for this are few and far between. Virtually every power supply manufactured in the past 10 years, from phone chargers to five-figure switches and routers, is rated for 100-240V.This does seem to consume a surprising amount of overhead even with no load which, given that its mission in life is to be plugged into a UPS, is suboptimal. If at all possible, avoid the need to use one of these. But if you need something like this, this is what you need.
