I have 500-750 miles on it now and have no complaints. Quiet and no leaks.

Positive, it has a drain plug, so you just could do the maintenance without taking the part down.Negative, mine startet to make a grinding sound at 20.000 km with two oil changes.

Good quality replacement with all the updates. Heat sheild and drain plug. Only reason for 4 stars is shipping was very rough and looked like it had fell fron 40 feet prior to being placed into a Gm box for the shipment. some bends to the heat shield but thats what prybars were made for.

I saved money and seems just as good. Has a drain plug so you can change the oil in it. Hope it lasts

This unit has a drain and fill plug. Time and mileage will prove out the quality.

Common fail item apparently in the AWD Ford Edge and other vehicles. I was getting the whining sound, followed later by the "can of nails" sound, later followed with the "dragging metal" sound. I kept looking underneath, thinking my driveshaft came loose. After you start to hear the whine and its not a wheel bearing, be ready to get rid of the car, or replace this unit. I was lucky enough to have a friend with a lift that made the job a lot easier. Took me about 7 hours not working too hard, watching a football game at the same time. Was quoted $2400 for the job, so well worth a weekend of grease. This product fit perfectly and works flawlessly. I can not say if this is an old style or redesigned model. All I can say is it does not have a drain plug, only a fill plug, and it works and I'm happy. Pic is of my old unit. I also opted to replace the lower torque strut mount since it had to come off for install anyway. Good Luck if you're doing this job.

This item perfectly fit on my 2010 Ford taurus sho. Symptons I had that the old failed was lurching then it sounded like something was loose. Also smelled horribly like natural gas. The project took about 6 hours in my garage. Car runs flawlessly now.
