Not bad, took a little bit of work to install into my 2003 bmw z4 3.0l M54. ( felt a bit tight mounting it into the intake manifold) overall it does the job.

It does the job. Expect to lose power at mid to high RPMS. Needed this as temporary fix for my E46 325ci. As others reviewers pointed out this DISA is bound to fail prematurely. I would not recommend this long term. BMW is charging nearly 500$ for the OEM part. Only use this if you really need your car moving no matter the circumstance. Like the saying goes “you get what you pay for” and honestly I’m satisfied.

The DISA Valve is incredibly cast and looks to be of near exact OEM spec from my measurements and comparison to my old stock one. My Problem/Complaint is the Elec. Connector doesn’t fit properly and doesn’t click in. You have to push it in extra hard even with a little dialectic grease (like very hard) and it will work, but no satisfying “Click” (I got an ECL light 2 of 3 times trying to plug it in until I pushed super hard). I’d give it 5 stars but that Electrical Connection doesn’t fit properly and I’m almost scared will damage my wiring plug with repeated use. Does not come with O-Ring.

The rubber seal is not an o-ring. Rather the manufacturer used a molding system to form a continuous seal. And if it tears during installation, it's nearly impossible to remove the old seal and install an o-ring. Given the diameter is a bit over-sized tearing is a real possibility. I gave it a try and failed. I made absolutely sure the mating surface was clean, used a sufficient amount of lube to get it to slide in easily and it still tore. Leaving my car with a nasty vacuum leak, which gives you the P0171/0174 codes not to mention the computer overcompensates by injecting extra fuel, which leads to the car operating hot. Now my car is stranded in some 700 miles from my home. It seems like a nice unit but unless you are lucky and perfect in installation I wouldn't purchase this unit. I'd get a kit and refurbish your old unit. And that's exactly what I'm doing and will be taking it with me on an airplane to fix the problem. Please note this is not my first rodeo. I like working on BMWs and know my way around M54 engines quite well.

Installed as a replacement on a 2004 X3 2.5l & have driven over 200 miles w/ part installed w/ "NO" issue. About 1 1/2 hour & not complicated to install.Saved me a ton of $$$! I could tell the improved performance after putting this & MAF on the vehicle. The dealership wanted over $1000 parts+labor for this & MAF.I replaced both for $105 :)

This DISA valve worked perfectly on my 2005 BMW 325i. I saw negative comments by some customers who did not know how to test it before installation and could not install it properly.Testing the vacuum by holding on the hole is not good enough as the amount of vacuum by holding on the hole with the finger is not enough. Also, turning the key to 2nd position is not going to generate vacuum to close or open the flap.I installed mine and test drove the car on idle and on highway speed. Worked just perfect and no codes. The valve seal and material is of high quality.Extremely happy. 5 star
