As a previous review mentioned, I needed to use a dremel to grind a little metal out so the cable would fit, but it works great after I got it put back together.

Part works but has a major defect in the fabrication of it. The slot that secures the hood release cable was visibly one-tenth of an inch wider than the original OEM part. I had to Dremel it to make it work. Otherwise the part worked well once I was able to correct the distance of the slot so that the plastic locking tabs could be secured. The photos show the distance on the new part versus the old part.

Installed on my wife's 2007 vw rabbit 2.5l 4 door and worked perfectly. arrived quickly and allowed me to sell the car for more money.

Perfect fit for a long time issue with my hood latch. Also replaced the short cable to make the repair.
