This sending unit appears to be very well constructed and test very accurately on my multimeter. It should stand up to the rough ride Jeeps encounter on trails.

According to the 1977 Jeep Technical Service manual, the Ohm reading on empty, full droop of the float, should be 73 Ohms and on full, float in top most position, 10 Ohms with a 5% tolerance. Figuring a 5% tolerance, empty should read between 69.35 Ohms and 76.65 Ohms and on full should read between 9.5 Ohms and 10.5 Ohms. This unit measured 221 Ohms on empty and 0.000 kOhms, or a dead short, on full. Not the fault of the seller who happens to be a true gentleman and was very responsive to my issue, and received the unit back with free shipping and a prompt refund.
