this unit probably works fine but I returned it ..the reason was on the Astro / Safari it is common for the wiring harness to be burnt at the plug and that is what I found when I took mine apart. There are other ballast resisters that include the wiring harness (this one does not) and that is why I returned this one.If your wiring harness and plug is good this should work fine for you

Had to cut the 4 plastic tabs in order for it to slide into housing. Works perfect for me 2003 Chevy astro

It has some plastic legs that need to be snapped off, and, I'm not sure if it was actually necessary, I had to bend the metal tabs with the diodes or whatever they are in order to get it fit properly. Seems to work. Not sure if high was any different than the previous setting. Hopefully nothing arcs after bending the metal tabs.

After finally getting it installed, it has worked great! However on my 2003 Astro, it would not fit into the opening in the air box. The mounting holes were right, it was the electronic plate was to big for the opening. I took a Dremel tool and carefully enlarged the opening until it would fit. As with most work in a vans engine compartment, there is little room and visibility to work. NOTE: If you have the same issue, be careful not to enlarge the opening too big or the flange and seal on the Resistor will not “seal” the air box.

The part is working great but it required some minor modifications to fit into the HVAC on the 2002 Chevy Astro van.

I expected to need to do a little modification work, but it was an exact match for the original and slid right in. My van is an 05 astro.
