Pump whined loudly right out of the box. System was properly bled and all other parts are functioning normally.

the pump i got was trash. i have had decent luck with this amazon brand in the past so i took my chances. Installed this pump on my wife's 2003 jeep cherokee 4.7ho. also installed a few new lines and flushed out the other lines, cooler, fan motor and steering box. fresh new fluid and primed the pump by hand before putting the belt back on and starting it. instantly started making horrible grinding noise and sounds like it is ready to explode. I highly recommend paying the extra money for a good brand

La obtuve hace tres meses y trabaja perfecto, tengo un wj 4.7 2002, la entrada de aceite es pequeña y pensé que tendría problemas , pero funciona muy bien .

O ring between pump and reservoir failed probably when they assembled leaked fluid everywhere. A 10min job turned into a 2.5 hour job with a trip to the auto parts store and then disassembling the pump from the reservoir. Absolute garbage considering I need the car and took my one day off this week to install this

Replaced a whiney and complaining OEM pump. 1000mi so far. 2004 Grand Cherokee, 4.7-N. Save yourself the hassle of pulling the pulley. A new Dorman pulley (Dorman 300-310) is only $12. I used a 3/8-16 bolt with a nut, socket, and a couple of washers to press the new pulley on. Was a tight press, but not difficult. New pump runs silent after I purged the air bubbles. I never realized how tight my steering was until I replaced the pump. Parking lots are a dream now. Hydraulic fan now runs on high when called for, and coolant temps dropped 7f.Tech-tip - if replacing a Jeep WJ PS pump, and you have the hydraulic fan, be sure and compare the high pressure orifice on your new pump to the old pump. Most new pumps have too small an orifice and you will starve the system and burn your new pump in a matter of months. They are not designed to run your steering AND hydraulic cooling fan. In lieu of swapping them on mine, I just removed the new one and drilled it out to match the factory size. If you remove to swap or drill, be careful removing - there is a spring behind that is DYING to fly around your shop! You will also have to remove to reservoir to get the orifice out.....

The pump looked great. It was new and came as expected however once installed it whined like no tomorrow. I had to replace it with a different one since it didn't work.Update: Turns out I had a problem with one of the lines to the pump. After fixing the line, the pump works as expected. I'm very satisfied with it.
