After reading other reviews, I think I got a defective skimmer. I bought the Axis 20 to upgrade the pump that came with my Fluval Flex kit. The pump that comes included is 132 gph… Axis 20 is supposed to be 185. My axis doesn’t move half the water the fluval pump did at 100%. I can tell by the water disruption and the water level in the return pump area of my filter. My fluval pump lowered the water level like 5inches. My Axis 20 lowers the water level like .5 inches. Tomorrow I’ll measure its water output with a 5 gallon jug. I’m mad, I was excited, now I’m thinking about changing my AI Lights because they might not be as good as I thought. Is AI just another scamming company rebranding cheap products or is only my pump defective.

Bought this product from leap habits, item sold as new, had been clearly used, which honestly i was ok with. Then after hooking began staying in closed loop circle. Stayed in this even when nothing hooked to pump. This item was a return to them that they resold as new and damaged my uv light that was 2x the cost of the pump... shameful

I like the pump so far. It is quiet. It gets louder the more you turn the flow up. I really like it. I'd recommend it.

Used this pump to replace the stock pump on my 47gal AIO and it’s great. Pairs seamlessly with the myAI app and then controls from there are simple. Really enjoy the whisper quiet function of the pump too, no more humming! Well worth it especially if you have other AI products.

Finally, a small pump that's I can control with my phone that has al the power I need. I have ai hydra 64 and a nero now with this, I just hit feed mode and in 10 minutes everything is back to normal. Beautiful!

This pump is very powerful. The app helped turned down the GPM easily and fast. Works great in our 30 gallon setup but it has to be set on 1-10 percent. I do wish they would make it pump a little less powerful on the lower settings.

I'm a huge fan of AI products. I started using them when I started buying their lighting products. I needed an upgrade on one of my return pumps and thought, why not try out the Axis 20.Pros:. Super fast set-up, paired immediately with the MyAI app and is very was to adjust in the app.. Comes with a bunch of items to help mount the little wireless controller onto your cabinet, desk, whatever.. I literally cannot hear it running. It is extremely quiet.Cons:. The only con I can think of is that this pump will not sustain 100% power. On the app, if you set it to 100% then it will kick off every so often and then restart. This has been a known issue with these pumps and for me, it's not a big deal. I don't need it running at 100%. I've found the highest it will run without the "restarting" issue is 85% for me. Which is still more than plenty, so for me this isn't really a "con". If you were running this on a bigger tank and needed that extra bit, it could definitely be annoying. I'd recommend buying a size up from what you need to account for this issue.Overall it's a great pump, has been super reliable for the few months I've had it. I'll probably buy another for my other tanks.
