I got this cave with the intention of mounting it higher up on the tank for a spot that my smaller fish could hide the magnet's not strong enough to hold it in place. The whole idea was to get more room without being at the bottom of the tank, which is already full

I have a 20 gallon hex I'm installing this on. I really like the concept of creating a natural environment with a hide or a cave. But I've always wanted to see inside too, now I can withe this cool magnetic cave. I can install both sides on either side of glass, and remove the exterior piece to have a look, with out interfering with the inside one. Which is important if there's eggs or fry inside. While this looks like stone, it is still fragile enough to break if you dont take care with it. (This is my 2nd order, my first one didn't survive shipping, and amazon worked with me to resolve issue. Thanks!) It is a good size for smaller / community fish, perfect for the shorter sides of my hexagon aquarium. It's a great value for the money, very reasonably priced, and something uniquely cool to have!

I got this cave with the intention of mounting it higher up on the tank for a spot that my betta could hide in.It's not actually designed to do that - it has a flat bottom that's supposed to sit on the bottom of the tank. This is fine and all, but then I don't understand the magnetic outside part. Why not just make it a solid rock cave with a hidey hole? It just seems odd to me to have portion of the rock on the outside of the tank. The magnet itself is decently strong, but could be stronger. The grip on the glass isn't great, and while I'm still trying to use it higher up as a Betta cave, I find the cave slowly tilts back at an angle with no bottom support. I may end up just using a strong magnet on the outside instead of the rock piece so that I can have a little "window" in which to look inside of the cave. The rock does look very realistic and the build quality is good with the exception of the magnet.

My kids recently started keeping a few small shrimp in the bathtub turned mini tank, and they asked for "a home" for their shrimp. So I went online and found this resin aquarium cave. After installing it in our tank, the shrimp took their time exploring it, after a few hours, they finally moved in. Now they often poke their heads out to check what’s going on outside, which my kids find super fun to watch.Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase. The design looks natural, with a realistic stone like texture that blends in nicely with the rest of our tank decorations. It adds a more authentic and earthy vibe, which is exactly what I wanted, something both decorative and functional. The magnetic lid is one of its best features. It’s easy to remove and lets us take a peek inside without disturbing the shrimp too much. Sometimes, even our betta swims inside to rest. The internal space is just right for small creatures like bettas and shrimp, and they’ve adapted to it quickly as a hideout.Compared to some cheaper plastic or ceramic pieces I’ve used before, this one feels much sturdier and better built. The resin is smooth, durable, and hasn’t affected water quality at all. Cleaning is also a breeze, which is a definite plus. The product matched the description well, and I appreciate thoughtful touches like the dark interior lining. It’s a great option for anyone looking for something that balances aesthetics and function. The only downside is that the magnetic strength isn’t strong enough for thicker glass. If bumped by fish, the cave sometimes shifts position. I’d recommend improving the magnet power for better stability.

I have it floating near the top of my tank, and my Africans absolutely love it! Also, I love it haha - Thank you, also the magnet could be stronger, but overall it’s a good buy and natural looking-

I was excited to try this fish hideout, and the shipping was impressively fast. However, the first one arrived completely broken, which was disappointing. Thankfully, the seller quickly sent a replacement the next day. While the design is a decent size and looks nice in the tank, the magnet strength is weak. It doesn’t hold the pieces together securely, causing it to slide down rather than stay in place. Additionally, I wish the back was transparent so we could see inside from the other side.Overall, it’s an okay product, but the weak magnets make it less functional than expected. Would be great with stronger magnets and a clearer back panel.

I had ordered shrimp hides for my tank but the ship time was about a month, so I needed a different solution. This seemed like a perfect option as I could have a decorative piece inside and outside to also allow me to adjust without shoving my hands in the established tank. It is good, however the magnet is not strong enough to hold together against any real resistance. It needs more magnetization to be the best possible fit. It also means it doesn't really hang aligned inside the tank and when I try to move it, it sometimes comes apart. I'm keeping it as it is but they don't seem to care much for it. Really only the snails have meandered in there on occasion. Disappointed but also it may work better for others.

This is getting the full 5-Stars on thew grounds that this is such a clever idea! I'll be borrowing the concept as well, I make tank sculptures and such as I need them, this adds a whole new dimension to that. This is just perfect for the tank I'm stocking now. If there is a single diss for it is in that the magnet could be a bit stronger but as long as the external component isn't where it can get bumped and dislodged, it'll stay where it's put. Again, such a slick idea, borrowed from the magnetic tank scrub brush; there's a lot of ways this idea can be put to use, filter pumps as well, or lighting - with R.E.E. magnets that are super-strong pretty much anything can be attached to a tank, and probably a real great saver for the round/nonstandard shaped tanks.
