Died after a year. Does not connect to wifi anymore and does not show the temperature anymore. Was nice while it worked

I purchased this before the winter set in, and am so glad I did. This works really well, and connects to the app on my phone so I can check the water temp at all hours. Saves me worrying when the water starts to ice up, and I can't see the fish.

It really helps to be able to monitor water temps without having to physically visit the pond. Being a smaller volume of water, the temp can fluctuate significantly and require attention. The historical readout is nice, but it would be better if it was numerical rather than just a line graph. This is a great tool.

So far I've only had this in for a couple weeks but it works great at least so far to see and track the temperature in my large koi pond. Others have said they had issues with the connection, but mine connected to my wifi (router pretty far in house) right away and I've had no connection issues. I'd highly recommend!

The first issue is that the transformer is integrated into the plug. This is how Aquascape does things. The problem is that you will be using this outside and it should be in an enclosed box. It will either not fit most boxes or it will block a second outlet. Problem 2, the cord from the transformer to the controller is very short so your mounting options are very limited. Problem 3, the digital readout is very dim and can not be read in direct sun, however you will probably use the app on your phone. This brings me to the last issue(s), there are no directions included on or in the box. Obviously you will go to the app store to download the app but it is not called Smart Pond Thermometer. You have to search for Aquascape Smart Control. Now you have to create an account to even use the app. Next you find that it uses your home WIFI network to connect to your device, not Bluetooth. This was a PITA. With all that being said I would still recommend this thermometer, it works perfect, seems accurate and good quality.
