The space is large enough, and it is working fine as a carry on bag. It would be better if the bag comes with wider shoulder belts.

What we wanted:- backpacks, but ones that opened on 3 sides, like a typical suitcase- a sturdy waist strap- larger than 40l because we were traveling for 3 weeks through 3 climates, 50s-90sWe've just returned from a 3 week trip to 4 destinations in Costa Rica and these bags were RAD! I have backpacked 10 months in my life with a more traditional backpacker pack. But this was better!1) it's big but not ridiculous to carry. I'm 5' 105 lbs, and I could handle my bag on my back just fine. The waist strap is excellent. It's LONGER/TALLER than a usual pack, so it doesn't poof out way behind you and tip you backwards. My old pack used to tip me backwards allll the time unless my day pack was clipped to my front for counter balance.2) it has a lot of pockets. Once you get your routine down of what's where, it was fabulous to have all those slots.3) there is a velcro "separation" inside you can choose to use (or not). It makes 3 compartments in the main body of the bag. 2 smaller on each side, 1 larger in the center. This also makes some organization nice and easy.4) I kept finding new pockets. There are two flat ones on each side and one narrow in the top of the bag (you could stuff a raincoat in there).5) the zippers and buckles all held up well in our use. The zippers seem quite heavy duty and are very smooth, not snaggy to zip.6) the compression buckles are great and are easy to use without getting pinched.7) it comes with a free rain cover which we didn't end up using, but appreciated!8) yes we took a limited amount of stuff but this fit my 6' husband's and 5'8" son's stuff just fine. And all of us also had 2 extra pairs of shoes packed + toiletries.9) it looks cool, c'mon, it just does.10) the backpack straps do NOT zip inside a liner, so if it's super important to you, just know these don't do that. But see my cover trick below!11) it's possssible this may be considered a carry on but triple check the airline's dimensions.All in all, these were excellent for our purposes. If you plan to walk TONS with a pack on, yes this might be a bit large. But if you know your trip is going to be somewhat minimal handling or if you're bigger than my 5' frame, you'll probably be just fine.And BONUS, If you want to protect your bag during transit, I had a flash of an idea late at night that TOTALLY WORKED! I had bought these heavy duty bags and turns out these backpacks fit PERFECTLY inside!They're thicker than the Ikea bag material. Once you get your pack in, there is a bit of extra room if you need to toss in a fleece or towel on top!We had our 3 bags go through 4 flights and everything was completely intact and in perfect condition! Honestly this blue cover bag makes your pack look like uninteresting crap, so I feel like no one is going to bother with your stuff when there are more bougie bags going by! I bought this for an emergency supply backpack. Take it from someone who initially knows nothing of emergency preparedness and is just getting started. You want this bag! It's durable, comfortable, and although I haven't tested the water resistance, I'll update that detail later. It arrived quickly and undamaged. I bought this 60l capacity bag but when I got it, the wrapping paper for the waterproof cover said 80l, so take of that as you will. I'll just say that if I were to put my 10lb cat in here, she'd still have room, so there's plenty of space.I'm 305 lbs and psychically disabled, so strap wise I had to pull the waist strap all the way to the limit and adjust the bust strap and after it fit like a glove. But be careful if you take it out to max as the waist straps can come loose. I'd fasten the end with glue or something to stop it up. The bag has no frame, but the dividers kind of give it shape. I'm certain with my disability, I'll be able to secure the bag to carry it no problem, even with a lot of stuff without throwing me off balance. Would gladly recommend.

I wanted a large-capacity GO bag, and found this one - and I'm glad I did!! HD zippers & plastic buckles.(A water-proof cover is included.)The interior can be divided into 3 parts, or used as one large bag - and there are also 7 pockets (4 interior).The 2 side pockets have a 14" zipper, and run the entire height of the pack!The center (rear) pocket (under the center handle) is 8"T x 12"W x 5"D.The large interior pocket is 12" x 16", with a zipper; the smaller, mesh pocket is 12" x 7", with a zipper; both of these pockets cover the inside (top) of the pack, when the interior compartment is unzipped. There are also 2 smaller pockets (7"W x 8"T), with an elastic top edge, on the bottom, sides of the interior area. There is also an adjustable strap across the middle of the interior area, very useful for keeping stuff bags in place.I added 2 small pouches (6T" x 4"W x 2.5"D) to the top exterior; I also added 2 longer pouches (8.7"T x 4.9"W x 2.2"D) - 1 to each side. A Condor "deployment" bag will be attached to the bottom Molle straps.I'll be attaching a camp axe along one side, and a machete along the other.This bag will be heavy when loaded (about 60 - 70 lbs) - but I'll have food, hydration & cooking gear, shelter & fire gear, tools, clothes, hygiene gear, and medical supplies.

Bought this for our 16 yr old son. He hunts, travels with my husband to various outdoor industry shows and attends summer camp. When I informed our son I bought him a travel bag since the backpack he loves is just to small for the trips he does. He assured me he loves his backpack and didn’t need it. I set the bag on his bed for when he came home. He came right down to see me with the bag and was stoked at how great it was! A bag that appears like a soft and organized suitcase but carries like a backpack or gym bag and his favorite part was the Velcro and expandable options for molle bags! He told me I scored on this one! He is in the process of putting an order together now for molle bags to attach to it. And he looks forward to putting patches on the Velcro strip! And of course the new order of molle bags will have Velcro for even more patches from manufacturers in the outdoor industry!This is a really nice bag and excellent price point. Lots of built in compartments and detail to the design utilizing every space wisely! Feels very durable. What a great concept! I almost want to order a second to just have it! This mom really loves it for her sons travels! Even better my son says it’s his new favorite bag! I did good... or rather you guys made me look good!
