First time I ever used a product like this. It seemed easy. Only time will tell whether I can continue to praise the product.

The tape is very thick and very difficult to cut cleanly. The description says you can repair pages but I think this would be difficult.

Seems to be working great. Very easy to use, not too sticky!

Anyone who's worked in a library knows this tape. It doesn't have the tensile strength of, for instance, sail repair tape, but it's tough, pliable, water-clear, and its adhesive doesn't turn to dust in a few years like packing tape. We'll all turn brittle, crack and peel before this stuff does. That's if this is the real deal, which only time will tell. Check back here in 50 years; I'll update with my experience. So far I've only used it to reinforce and repair book spines. It's excellent in a few other applications, like pseudo-laminating documents. Remember paper card driving licenses? Mine is still pristine because of tape like this, though I did have to replace it eventually in order to fly. This is quite a small roll, so it's extremely expensive compared to clear packing tape. If this is what you need, though, it's great that you can have it appear in your mailbox. It's strong stuff.

This is thick clear plastic book tape for reinforcing the spine/cover or protecting exterior labels on a book. Unlike packing tape, it's slightly flexible to move with the book. I also found while applying it that this tape could easily be re-positioned multiple times as I lined it up straight and even on the book spine before smoothing it down. After you smooth it down the glue seems to set more permanently. I don't believe this is a kind of tape you would use to repair book pages. It's for the cover/binding.I take care of my church's library and the book shelf in our prayer chapel and I use a lot of this sort of tape to reinforce books which get handled a lot. This is one for our 24 hour Perpetual Adoration Chapel. I used scissors to trim the tape to the exact length of the spine. I centered the strip of tape on the book spine and this is where the ability to reposition the tape till you get it right is useful. Then I smoothed the spine down with my finger first, before pressing the tape down on either side. Easy. The quality of this is good. This is a small roll of tape however. If you just need to repair or reinforce a few books that may be okay with you. I do usually look for larger rolls.

The red flag is the price. You only get 16.5 ft, for $10 (at time of review).I order enough books, that I receive quite a few that have the spines splitting or tearing in two. Book tape is a miracle, and I've purchased a few rolls over the years. This roll will allow me to patch up a few books..... and that's it.My advice: look elsewhere. This tape works fine, but elsewhere you can find rolls that are 72 yards for the same price. Buy those, not this.

This is very thick tape. It says it is archival quality tape for book repair, however, I cannot imagine using such thick tape on a page of a book. They must mean for book bindings. It did not work well at all for repairing a page in a book.

The tape doesn't not work for binding and does not stick as described. I would not recommend it.
