Ares G2 UHD Spotting Scope

Ares G2 UHD

The Ares 15-45 family of spotting scopes were designed with advanced optical quality and ease of use in mind. Designed with bright, razor-sharp imagery and a rugged, weatherproof design, the Ares is ready for any condition. The interchangeable eyepiece allows you to swap the standard variable power eyepiece with a fixed 22 power eyepiece (sold separately) with a MIL ranging reticle in it for your long range shooting/tactical application. They have Extra-Low Dispersion glass lenses for color resolution and contrast, our AFMC (advance fully multi-coatings), and feature BaK4 prisms with the new ESP Dielectric Coating. They bring clarity and brightness within the reach of most enthusiasts. The tough full metal chassis is fog proof and waterproof and filled with Argon gas to prevent internal fogging and better thermal stability. The lenses are then treated externally with our XPL coating to withstand dirt, oil, and grime of constant use. Choose from three different models – each distinctly different in size so you have a scope tailor-made for your specific activity.

The product seems to be okay. You should know the exterior Amazon shipping pkg was fine with no damage. But when pulling out the box that had the scope was punctured.

Fantastic spotter for the money. Purchased the straight for calling shots. Imo it’s easier to acquire targets using straight than angled. Clarity is fantastic for the price point. Would recommend.

The product itself received excellent reviews across the internets. The one I received that was sold by Profline appears to be assembled poorly. The photos show where the front portion of the lens tube mates with the focus ring. There is a gap on one side almost a 1/16" of an inch and no gap on the other. This throws the focusing plane way off. I don't know if this was a factory second or a return or what, but in the world of optics, it's unacceptable. Amazon was great with the speedy refund request. Be careful where you buy yours! I hope to be able to upgrade the actual product review but I need an acceptable unit first.

Definitely on par with the $1000-$1500 scopes. Has all the nice features and even comes with a neoprene case.

Pros:- Tube seems solid. I read some complains that it is bit heavy, but for me this is not an issue.- Image is crisp and bright I don't see any color fringing. For the image quality I would set 5 starsCons:For the price I expect better quality control. I bought it with 22x eyepiece and when I took standart eyepiece off for the first time, there were a lot of dirt inside(see attached photos). I even can't tell what it was exactly, seems like a small peaces of plastic. I was able to clean it and there is not issues right now, but it was unexpected.

Don’t spend thousands on a Swarovski scope…this is as good. The clarity and focus are excellent and it’s easy to use.Tip - don’t skimp on the tripod you buy! I spent another $220 on a aluminum manfrotto tripod. Both of these were recommended by my birding guide in Costa Rica.

Very impressed with this scope. I love how compact it is and it feels very solid. The image is sharp and bright. There is some loss of clarity when fully zoomed in but at this price point that’s not surprising. Focus ring is easy to use and operates smoothly. My only quibble would be the need to refocus when adjusting the zoom. Kind of annoying but I can live with it.
