As an artist I am part of that group of humans who are constantly in search of storage for the things we make. Paintings which are wet and in progress, paintings which are dry and awaiting framing, paintings which will hopefully sell, and canvases awaiting that first exciting mark. And yes, those alleged masterpieces which will linger inexplicably in our studio for years.I have a couple of versions of this storage unit, however I was very happy to have another, especially as I am working in larger format these days, so my studio is littered with canvases leaning against every wall and table.As per the images I shared here, this comfortably fits a 30 x 40 canvas, and could potentially store larger, except I don't have anything bigger currently to test it. But 40 x 40 certainly.If you choose to install all of the dowels, you get 9 spaces. The space between each dowel is just under 2.5 inches. That's quite a few gesso or canvas boards in each slot, two one inch stretched canvases, or one 1 3/8 stretched canvas. In terms of width, i.e. that space across, that's around 13.5" wide, so probably a 14" wide canvas is the smallest that will fit in that space, but a 16" is the sweet spot.This was fairly straightforward to build, it came with idiot proof instructions, and it took me about 30 minutes while watching The Two Towers for the millionth time. Most of it was labelled with stickers, with the exception of the screws, although those are fairly easy to figure out as the instructions tell you how many you get of each.One of the dowels was slightly bent, as if it had been used in trepanning for water, but not a deal breaker. Everything else appeared to be in good order. If you are a bit on the sensitive side to smells there was a slight chemical odor when I took this out of the packaging and put it together.The handle and wheels make it very easy to maneuver.Interestingly and unusually, this comes with a 6 x 9 foot canvas drop cloth to throw over to protect your work from dust etc. I'm not sure if I personally am going to use it, but I can imagine it might come in handy if say you store your work in the garage or a shared space, or if you are a very expressive painter and things go flying around while you are working.In conclusion a very nice product, and good comparable value given this one comes with that drop cloth and most do not. It will certainly neaten up my space, for now that is. Until such time that I require yet another one because I have become overrun by more paintings.

The Art Storage Rack is a very solid, well-built product. It comes with a protective drop cloth, which is a nice touch to keep your artwork safe. Every part, including the dowels and wheels, is screwed securely into the frame—nothing feels loose or flimsy. It also includes a tool for tightening the screws, which made assembly easy. The instructions are simple and clear, but it’s important to follow them closely since some parts need to be placed just right. The only small issue is that a few of the dowels aren’t perfectly straight. It’s purely cosmetic and not noticeable once art is placed in the rack. This rack is sturdy, functional, and worth recommending.

First off - this thing was brutally slow to assemble. Each and every post gets a machine screw a couple inches in length which are very slow to thread into place. That would be totally fine if the end result was a high quality storage cart that I'd never have to build again or otherwise mess with or try to repair again.However, this was not the case. The lack of quality was evident from the moment I finished assembling it and well before I ever actually tried to put canvases on it. The posts are inconsistent angled and many are bowed considerably. That would again be forgivable if the thing was at least sturdy and capable of carrying the a canvas in each slot.Unfortunately with just 8 or so canvases on the cart (3 or 4 with frames), the cart immediately broke. As soon as I tried to roll it by the handle, the screw that secure the handle to the base ripped its threaded insert clean out of the wood and flopped to the side.This wasn't a manufacturing defect, this was a structural design defect. It was obvious before ever using it that these screws were going to be a serious weakness in the design.Cannot recommend this to anyone for any use case honestly.

First it's not perfect. Then again what is? But some dowel rods don't always line up straight, and it can be a bit of a chore putting it together (what isn't nowadays?) but once done, pat yourself on the back. Cause now you have a great place to store artwork that is not hanging on the wall the Louvre. I inherited a lot of art pieces from people dying on my left and right, and while I would have rather had those people still in my life, this is the second best thing because a lot of it I want to keep clean and safe. This provides that. I will have to buy about 3 more just to handle what I have uncovered so far, but this will be what I buy.It's a simple and clean design, and holds together pretty well if you take your time putting it together. Pretty sturdy and can hold a lot of different sized pieces. It functions as it should.

This art storage rack is sturdy well-designed, and a huge help in keeping my space organized. The multiple compartments are perfect for canvases, paper pads, and other materials. It was easy to assemble and feels very stable once set up. It included a protective cloth which was a great bonus. It keeps dust off my supplies and gives the whole unit a clean look. Highly recommend.

I like the design. The wheels are a nice feature. The drop cloth is a smart idea to protect from drips and dust. The T-handle hex wrench works great. But it has some issues: Some of the dowels are twisted and bent (see pic), a couple of the dowels had cacking at the ends that attach to the rack, and the listing has an illustration of different sizes of artwork the rack holds but they are inaccurate (for example, it shows a 36 x36 piece fitting comfortably in the rack, but the dowels are only about 27-28" tall, so in reality, a 36x36 piece extends almost 9 inches above the rack.)
