I am so excited to be able to give this pocket trumpet to my grandson. He has wanted one for quite a while now and I think he will be very happy. It's beautiful and has SO many extra items that will help him keep it in good condition. It was actually delivered BEFORE the expected delivery date.

I opened the case and was surprised by the bright brass color! In the picture it looked a little cloudy. It looks just like my brilliant King Trumpet finish of yesteryear. It feels comfortable, and when I blew in it, the tone was surprisingly rich.I had to work on oiling the valves a bit due to sluggishness on the second valve. I wiped it a few times and got a little gray stuff out, but my machinist husband complemented the precision of the valves. Since then everything has worked great! Not having played a cornet since college days, a long time ago, I wanted something manageable and not too big an investment.I am delighted! I am playing this one every day and gradually improving my lip control. I love the sound. I love the color. I love the weight. This is a winner!I love the zippered, sturdy cloth covered case.I’m so glad I didn’t mess with the silver one with the flaking nickel finish, one of the competitors.I highly recommend! I’m happy I took the step to get this Ashthorpe model!

Works great! Needed some oiling and tuning, but it came with the oil and was easy to do. Sounded great!

I received this as a gift for Christmas. I will take it on longer vacations so that I can practice with a real instrument instead of a mouthpiece. I am amazed at how well it plays for its size and price. Of course, it’s intonation and valve action are not like my professional trumpet, but they are much closer than I expected. And, this instrument is not intended to be a professional model. The response is remarkably close to a full-sized horn, and the sound is quite good. The first valve sticks very slightly, but with repeated oiling and working with it, the problem is resolving. I can play Arban and Cichowicz exercises nicely with it. The case is durable, and the whole package is quite compact. I am very happy with it.

My 13 yo plays the trumpet at school and wanted this pocket trumpet. It’s the perfect size! Sound is amazing and just like a regular trumpet.

Like most, was skeptical at this price. But I wanted something I could take with me on trips besides just a mouthpiece to keep my chops up. Looking it over out of the box, I could find no flaws in workmanship - but that doesn't mean it's gonna sound okay. Blew a low B flat and was shocked how much volume came out of this little package! Nice open warm sounding note! Checked intonation and it was just a bit flat - good. Played a few phrases and it came into pitch as expected. After about five minutes I checked intonation again - a little sharp - as expected. A slight tug on the ring that's part of the third valve main slide with my left thumb brought it back into pitch. As I played several scales, was impressed with how little shift there was between notes/octaves. Over time, we'll see how she holds up. Summary - for the price, I have a great little horn - yours for whatever you want!!
