There are still people out here using paper and haven't fully converted to everything being in digital format. I own some rental properties so often times I have to give a copy of a lease or a copy of a signed receipt for deposit at the time of the signing. This printer really helps with these things I don't do it very often since I can sent a picture of the document as a receipt too but it's always nice for those that are meticulous of keeping records to have something on paper.This printer will accept regular paper and you can connect to it on your phone or laptop. The print outs come out with crisp lettering. I'm not sure how long the thermal transfer cartridge will last though so I use this printer sparingly.Great little portable printer.

Where I work there are seven managers who have to share an office the size of a closet with one work station and one printer. The printer can only be addressed from the work station and not from any other device because it's not connected by WIFI or Bluetooth so I am always in line waiting to print out one page.So this is why I ordered this. With a simple installation of an App I was able to turn my phone into a word processor and then connected to this printer and I can print out what I need when I need and even keep the printer in my shop apron taking it with me everywhere. Is it super fast? No. Is it high def photo quality? No. but it will print out documents as needed when I am out on the shop floor as fast as I actually need and I almost never need more than one page at a time anyways.So far this has printed out about a hundred pages since I got it and has saved me hours of waiting in line at the printer. I have also been able to print things remotely by accessing my email and downloading something from my desk top at home with another App and that was handy.I recommend this device as a solution for those who need to print things out away from the office.

What. Can you do if. Printer doesn’t take paper not pulling paper and there is red line on ..? How to fix it

when i first received the unit, it was one piece. the instructions say to install cardon carriage. when i saw that it was already installed, i taught it was ready to go. i connected it to my phone which was very easy and quick. it connected immediately. since i thought it was ready to go, i tried to print something and the paper stuck to the ribbon. i separated the two and the ribbon was wrecked. the printer is now dead. i think the instructions miss the mark.

But you may need to make some considerations in using it.Out The BoxThe printer is of a simple design.Setup is quick and easy if you want to connect it to your computer.Downloading the drivers is also easy. Follow the directions in the manual and install the drivers onto your computer.For Mac users, it’s a little more work. (See Mac Users in this review)What I LikeThe printer works on regular printing paper. The text does have a shine to it, but that is okay.Unlike inkjet printers, the print appears on the downside of the paper.This printing on the downside happens because the paper passes over the ribbons. And there is no mechanism to flip the paper over upon exiting the printer.But fear not. The printer uses a dry printing process.There is little chance of a smudged text.DrawbackRibbons do not print in color. But that is to be expected.The print capacity of a ribbon is 45 pages. Far less than what you are used to if you use a non-portable inkjet printer.If you need color prints and lots of print capacity, this is not the printer for you.But if you are like me. And, you sometimes need to print something where color is not an issue.This portable printer is the printer for you.Driver Installation: Mac UsersDownload the driver to a folder on your computerFollow the directions to install the driver.The installer may show that the installation failed.Ignore this and try to add a printer by using the ADD Printer.This function is in the Printer and Scanner preference pane.You should see the printer designation in the Add Printer window.Clicking on the printer will show the printer name (P831) and the driver it is using.The printer will now appear as one of the available printers.Open a document to test the printerMake sure to select the portable printer.Insert paper and hit print.PRINTER REVIEW UPDATEIf you are having a problem with printing, such as the printer shows in use. But it is not printing. Try using a different USB cable.I have problems printing when using the supplied USB cable.Support Services for the printer suggested the same thing.Paper alignmentThe alignment for letter size paper is off slightly.I have tried various techniques to avoid the paper jam.I looked online for a solution to this problem.None have worked.The problem may be with my machine.Type of paperThe type of paper makes a difference.Regular printer paper is thicker than thermal paper.In my thermal paper test, misalignment happened less with this paper.Which type of paper roll or fan fold is up to you.
