The description says its “Made of tool steel” and it is only mild steel. If you are looking for actual tool steel that can be hardened post machining this is not what you are looking for.

The product appears to be OK, but everything else was abominable. I placed the order and within two minutes I realized I selected the wrong item and tried to cancel the item. The next day I received an email from the vendor wanting clarification (I think: defiantly English was not his langue). I responded and recieved Two more emails wanting clarification (I think). The vender contacted me again so I said “cancel the order.” A while later I received the unwanted part.

The soft stub MT2 has a fine finish and is accurately machined. My intention is to create a 5/16 center drill holder for use in the tail stock of my lathe and also for use on my drill press which also has an MT 2 spindle. If this does what I intend I will be ordering several more for button dies and specific drill sizes and chucking reamers. Draw bar capability is a plus as well. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of five was the almost four week delivery time. I actually got this review request 2 days before the part arrived.
