Much better product than the last one I bought. This is a replacement for my last meter. Thought it said the voltmeter can measure up to 40 volts. Wish it went to 45 volts to test ebike batteries. Small. Lightweight. Flashlight and lit screen functions. Can safely check 110 volt lines without actual physical contact. Very quick way to check if power is on.

Multimeter arrived quickly and was better than expected. Comes with a nice lightweight case which houses the multi-meter, probes and instructions. Actually came with some well-known brand AAA alkaline batteries to get you going. When in auto mode, it will detect the amount of DC or AC voltage, without having to 'dial it in' so to speak. It will automatically determine the voltage range which is a big step up from my previous units where you had to use a dial to specify the range that you're measuring. Very helpful and time-saving feature for sure! Also, the fact that you don't have to change the probes to measure AC or DC, or resistance is a big plus.It can detect whether or not you have an AC voltage without having to actually touch the probes to the source. It will let you know whether or not something is hot or not. Kinda cool. All this for under $15 dollars (US) is actually a very good deal.Comes with a rubber-ish guard that goes on the sides of the unit that offers protection and better grip. The unit itself is rather light and the red rubber guard actually helps it feel better in your hands. Also features a decent storage bag/case that can hold the unit and the probes and even the instruction manual which is written in decent english.Unit has features like a backlight that can be turned on or off for the LCD screen (nice big LCD screen by the way) and also a flashlight feature to help with vision for when you are in darker environments. There's a lot to like on the AstroAI Multimeter and not much to complain about. It comes with everything you need, a decent case and measures accurately. Love it so far! At the current price, its a recommend for sure!

Good multimeter for putting in your auto's tool bag. I drive old cars with lots of miles. Because they are old (and usually easy to fix compared with more modern computer controlled vehicles) I carry a well equipped tool bag in each one. A good multimeter is an essential part of that tool bag. I got this multimeter for that purpose. The Good:1. The multimeter appears well made2. The unit is small3. It comes with a nice carrying case4. It comes with 2 name brand AAA batteries5. The multimeter has a protective rubber like case around it to provide some degree of protection6. The meter auto ranges so you don't have to do anything except plug in the leads and turn it on.7. It is reasonably accurate. I compared a couple of voltages and resistances against my Fluke meter and got good enough agreement.8. The manual, although tiny, was written by someone that can actually write English correctly.9. If you use the QR code included in a '"Thank You" card and register the meter they give you another year of warranty which I doubt you will need. The not so Good - nothing that I can findHint on installing the batteries. When you look at the back the battery access cover is not obvious as the seems are all tight and it looks like the back is one piece. It is not. Forget the four screws on the corners. Remove the one small screw in middle of the back. The battery cover is held in place by that one screw. After removing it, the battery cover will just fall off when you turn the back cover over.

This is the future of multimeters. I wish all multimeters auto-selected every function and range like this one! The most effort I have to put out is turning it on. It turns itself off.

A basic 'multi'meter you don't have to think about. No current measurement, no diode test, and a minimum 0.8 volts measurement. This will measure batteries, check wall AC, verify continuity, and check for resistance.Probes are small, and don't have tip shrouds. The are about 34 inches (86cm) long. No clips to store them on the meter, but you've got the zipper pouch. The non-contact voltage (NCV) detector is quite sensitive. Beeps slowly from about 3 inches, and quickly at about 1.5 inches. It is enough that I can trace some wiring in my walls. The backlight is nice, medium bright white. Good contrast on the LCD. The flashlight LED is adequate to make quick checks in the dark. The beeper is pretty loud. If you peel the 'QC' sticker off the back, you can place it over the beeper inside to get a more reasonable volume.Compared to my BK 2709B this meter read consistently over. Usually just a few hundreths. For low values it gets an extra digit, and it was over a few thousandths.Inside is pretty basic. A chip under a blob, some transistors for the NCV, resistor arrays on the input. Not much to see really.
