My original Polaris reverse mechanism seemed to have issues and after replacing I found cause was a cracked top nut part and I guess it leaked out water since the drn thing could not pull the cleaner out of corners.Put this new one on and then after pool timed on I would check on it every once in a while.Seemed to clen up better as it spent more time moving around then stuck in corners.SO thumbs up for me considering I could buy 3 of these for a true Polaris one.Time will tell with all things like this... and your results may vary.

Unfortunately, this valve did not last more than a couple of months, max. Our Polaris Black Max 280 constantly gets stuck and does not back up at all. We wish we had saved our money and put it toward an OEM part instead of wasting it on this. The only positive thing I can say is that it is black so it matches our cleaner...

What a piece of junk! Only 2 months into its use, but 1 month past return window, of course. Constantly spraying water from port even when not backing up, and therefore not able to back up Polaris properly. Unable to open casing to fix malfunctioning gear position, so will have to replace entirely.
