The exclusive 3rd Hand Pan Gasket is an innovative gasket solution invented by ATP. It features slightly undersized bolt holes that hold pan bolts in place during installation, which can be identified by small tabs on the outer perimeter. The 3rd Hand retaining feature makes a cumbersome installation process much easier. The material composition of the gasket is also unique. The fibrous gasket swells slightly with the first heat cycle, preventing any leaks long term and filling in imperfections on the pan and transmission surfaces. This fit my 97 Tacoma perfectly and had no installation issues. I did have to get some gasket adhesive and only used it on the pan side and not the transmission. So not sure what was special about the gasket but still required a little help. No problems at all after install

The gasket was the perfect size for my 1998 4Runner and the filter went in with no problem. Both filter and gasket were well made and if needed, I'd certainly buy them again. Good price as well.

Not exact fit. Just a hair too long. It runs up against a metal tube. I had to put an very small indentation were it was touching the tube. Gasket was a good fit.

Filter looked almost identical to the OEM filter removed, slight variance in the depth of the intake. Installs with 4, 10mm bolts securing the filter to the valve body. NOTE - Have your catch pan under the transmission when you remove the 4 bolts as it will drop another 1/2 qt of fluid.

Something wasn't right with this filter. According to all the information in should have fit. It looked awesome, and the gasket was right; however, for my Warner A340F transmission, the ATP filter was rubbing up against part of the interior transmission, and my mechanic recommended not installing it, because it would deform the filter, and potentially cause failure on two different aspects. He ended up cleaning the old filter and putting it back on. It's kind of a bummer, because the filter looked really awesome, and of high quality.

Great product! I dropped the transmission pan on my 97 SR5 and replaced oil and filter with this one. The filter bolts directly back on just as factory one did and the cork gasket works great also. Made job easy. Plus for next time you won't have that pain of a job with the stupid RTV. No leaks thus far.
