The differences between this insulation puncture probe and ordinary probes:
-The needles of ordinary multimeters are thick and short, making it difficult to measure signals and easily damaging the cable sheath.
-This multimeter pen has a thin needle, high hardness, good elasticity, and can be bent at will. It can be easily inserted inside the cable without damaging the cable sheath.

This review is on the Augeny wire insulation piercing probe adapters. The photo above shows the adapters. Unfortunately I didn’t include photos of using them for the fact they just don’t work well. The listing does provide a good description of the use and function of the probes. The manufacturing of them looks to be good. The problem I encountered with these wire probes is they are too long and thin where the wire exits the connector for your multimeter. I used a standard 16 gauge copper core wire for piercing and every time I tried to penetrate the insulation the probes would bend and deflect off the wire. The wire has a plastic coating for insulation that’s commonly found in most wiring which is just too difficult for the probes to penetrate. In my opinion they would work much better if they were a little thicker and shorter in length. I also think they would work better with silicone coated wire insulation but that’s not very common with most applications. I also think they would be good for back probing wire connectors. I worked as professional automotive technician for many years and using an efficient tool to get the job done quickly is important. I would use the Augeny wire piercing tool for back probing connectors but not for its intended use.
