This card shuffler, like others, is finicky. I noticed that if you try to shuffle just a few cards it starts acting up, stopping or doing only one side at a time. It wants full decks only. If I use older, less flat cards it doesn't like that either. I guess it makes sense that newer cards work better, though even they need to be pushed up flush against the gears. It's a little bit noisy for the 10-15 seconds it takes to shuffle. From what I can tell, this is the case with nearly all card shufflers. My 8 year old can use it by himself, and it's rechargeable so there are no cords to keep track of. This works as well as can be expected.

The Electric Playing Cards Shuffler is designed for 1-2 decks and has both auto and manual modes, making it versatile for card games UNO, Poker, and, Rummy. This shuffler is great. It isn't silent, and I imagine there is some issue with making the sides of where the cards land out of rubber, since I have yet to find a shuffler that has that feature. However, it is a bit quieter than those old larger plastic shufflers. You can hear the cards hitting the sides as they fall down into place. It may be a tiny bit faster than those old behemoths. I tested a regular deck of cards as well as my KEM cards (they are plastic instead of cardboard). The regular deck did get jammed once, but it may be how I loaded them into the queue. I believe you could MAYBE do two decks at once, but its small form factor would probably make that more trouble than just doing about 1 deck worth at a time. That brings me to the other great part, you simply pick the machine up after it is done. The cards are in a nice tidy stack and you don't have to mess with those old plastic refrigerator style trays like the older card machines have. That reason alone makes these a top value in my book. The small form factor makes it easy to bring along to a friend's card game. I got off track with the KEM cards, for whatever reason (weight perhaps) the Auto button (usually just goes until it senses no cards are left to shuffle) leaves about 3 to 5 cards on both sides. It isn't a huge deal since most people play with regular cards, and you simply have to press the manual button for a second after to finish the rest. I would probably just use manual anyhow for simplicity. Auto does work great with regular decks of cards. I went with 4 stars because it isn't my dream shuffler that is even quieter than this one as well as the fact that you are limited to one deck at a time. Neither are deal breakers. Oh, and it charges with USBc so you don't need to mess around with finding AA batteries or worrying about it dying mid-game. If you play a lot of card games or if you're still using one of those Kleenex sized 1980's style shufflers this will make you very happy. That plastic door in the other old shufflers is the worst.
