Double vision, if it’s pointed towards your rear window and there’s any light, sun or headlights you won’t be able to see anything, and if you try to point it down as much as you can you might be able to see for a while but if there’s any light inside the car it will reflect on to the glass display and if your car vibrates at all it will make the mirror move in a different angle making it practically useless for what it was designed for even with the display off and just as a mirror, it’s like using your phone as a rear view mirror also it says there was a cable for hard wire included in instructions but I had to buy a wire they sell specifically for this product separately for $30 and the thing for the fuses $12 and 5 minutes of unrecorded driving

This made a huge difference in visibility out of the rear window for me. My car has a small rear window, so being able see so much behind me now is incredible! The quality of the screen and cameras are great! The touch screen is responsive and easy to see in all lighting conditions. Install was a breeze. Screen just straps onto your existing rear view mirror, and gets powered on simply by plugging into the 12v cigarette lighter port. I really like that the front camera is separate from the mirror itself. This allows me to place the camera exactly where I want it to get the best front view. It’s a great option for a dash cam!

I like this camera a lot. In fact, I have purchased two different models of AutoVox (Model T9Pro and X7) and I like both of them.When an issue occurred, the customer service was amazing and very prompt. Don't hesitate to contact them for any assistance.In strong daylight, I do wish they were better backlit. Although adjustable, they are not quite as bright as I would personally like.So I mounted mine above the car's rearview mirror instead. Now I have the best of both worlds... an extra-wide viewing angle with front and rear dashcam recording thanks to AutoVox... and a standard rear view too.

The Auto Vox X7 arrived promptly from Amazon. I was so looking forward to receiving this front/rear camera mirror monitor system that I opened it right away. The box was well presented, and the initial view of the mirror monitor was professionally packaged. However, the related cameras and parts seemed to be just randomly thrown in the bottom of the box. Upon seeing all the wires, I immediately determined that this product required a wired installation and was not Bluetooth capable. For the price I just assumed it was a Bluetooth capable device. I blame myself for not fully reviewing the product pictures displayed in the Amazon product information. After debating whether or not to install the wired device, I went ahead and ran the wires in a cursory manner just to see if the product worked as described. I will retrace the wires and do a more professional installation when I have time.After hooking up the cameras and monitor with the power plug wire, I turned on the unit and it powered right up. I was extremely impressed by the resolution and clarity of the monitor’s display. I was also impressed with the number of available settings and the touch screen ability. The display of speed and longitude/latitude was a nice touch. I was disappointed that the power plug did not have a USB outlet included which restricts your ability to power other devices unless you get a multiple outlet hookup.All in all, if you are not set on Bluetooth this is a fine product.

My factory rear view backup camera for my Mazda 2010 CX-9 no longer works and to replace it using Mazda parts and labor will cost me ridiculously so I opted to try out this Auto-Vox X7 mirror dash cam.It provides not only rear viewing but also front viewing, with recording and with a super nice well built, high resolution touchscreen dash mirror.Touch screen is 2560x1440 with intuitive menu such as either slide or tap on the camera icon to switch between front and rear cameras. Crisp display and capture details in both views.The unit needs to use the car lighter, luckily I have 2 car lighter plugs in my car so this is not a problem for me if I need to charge devices using USB adapter.Installation needs 40 minutes or so. It can be faster but I like to do it right :) I did not use hardware kit and mounted on car rear window instead of on car license plate. Strongly recommend to test before actually inserting the extension cable along your car. In fact I used masking tapes to temporary fix cameras and the cables first to ensure that everything is centered and at the proper height when look at the results on the dash cam.The media card is Micro SD, may need to unplug the USB cable to the front camera in order to to access to the SD card. It could be placed in better position by itself. The audio recording is good and clear.So far so good, I'm happy with it and it's a nice plus from what I had.

First impressions, way better than factory installed cameras. Once installed, I love the touch screen and how easy it is to use. you can change from front to back camera with a simple touch that is placed conveniently in the lower left corner of the screen. The screen icons make it easy to see the status of the entire system. While I do like the X7 a lot, there are a couple little things I don't care for. First, the clip-on screen which you attach to the existing rear view mirror makes it look like a clunky add on. But that is what it is. second, the recording on the user supplied SD card does not record over the oldest files as the card fills up. Once full, the recording stops. I don't know if this will be an issue or not since I have not had the chance to fill up an SD card yet. Assembly of the unit is very intuitive. Making it work is easy, but running the cable from front to back may be a chore to the mechanically challenged. However that would be the case with any hard wired camera system. With that said, don't let that inconvenience dissuade you from purchasing this unit as the ease of use makes this X7 a great safety addition to any vehicle by providing both a front and rear camera. The cameras even work well in low light compared to other after market cameras that I have seen.
