Magnet is extremely weak. Would never trust it on a moving vehicle. Way too small for inshore salt water rods

I saw another product advertised online that was selling for $50. So I passed. I came across this product on Amazon for a much lower price, so I thought I would give it a try. Yes it is foam, the magnet is strong enough to do this job. Could hold several more rods. Bottom line, it does the job. If you're just needing something to hold your rod while you're getting ready or rigging up your line, this is the product. It's actually a two pack, the other has a strap to hold the rods in place. You cannot drive with these on! It's simply for holding your rods. Great Product, Highly recommended.

I bought these to try on my mini drift boat and was going to use with double sided tape since my boat is fiberglass but it won't work for this project since my fly rods are too long to fit in the boat. Therefore, I am using these as rod holders in the garage for storage of my favorite, go to rods that I set up the night before. Holds them just fine. The magnets are not super strong so I will most likely use the double sided tape on them but that works for me.

Doesn't hold rods well at all because the catches are made for really large old fashioned fiberglass rods or maybe for deep sea heavy rods. Worthless for typical surf fishing or freeshwater rods. Worse, the magnets are just a thin magnetic strip that don't even hold without a single rod in them. Again, useless.

Way too small and the magnets aren’t strong enough to work in a truck bed that has a spray in liner.
