This particular line works great for the actual rig portion of your line setup. It's fluorocarbon so it presents minimally and is resistant to kinks - important in any multi-hook rig. The manageable size means it's easy to keep on hand in case you want to change anything on the fly while out on the water. It's priced pretty well for the amount of line it comes with and performs well; I may be buying it again when I run out.

This was a great replacement line for my rod. Just like with any new line, you will need to make sure you stretch it after getting it on your reel. So far it has held up extremely well. It has a really good test on it.

First off after spooling the line, I always pull it out of the reel so that it can un twist before reeling the line back up. This line is very stiff for 6 pound test and continued to try and jump off the spool if there was not constant tension. After reeling everything back up from the grass, I might add I noticed that some of the line on the spool was catching sunlight, as if it had been damaged. I had to pull approximately 10 yards off of the real to get to two spots that had abrasions (that were not caused by me). I pulled on both sides of the line to see if it was just a minor imperfection in the line, and it snapped easily at both spots that were approximately 5 feet apart. After removing the abrasions and fishing with it, it appears to be plenty strong, but the stiffness causes it to be difficult to keep on the spool. You get what you pay for I guess. I will continue to use it but will not likely buy this brand again

While I don't use fishing line for actual fishing, it's great to have on hand for different things around the house. I first used this for hanging ghosts during Halloween, and then for securing my Christmas tree to a hook in the wall, to keep my three kids from accidentally pulling it over on themselves. This fishing line has held up great for all of those things so far, and it hasn't broken or had any issues.

I typically use a 4 lb or 8 lb test fluorocarbon leader with a 10 to 15 lb braided running line on my spinning gear so I am familiar with the advantages of fluorocarbon over monofilament - mainly less visible in water, sinks well, and is very soft and smooth with not a lot of memory. In this case, I ordered a 15 lb test spool for use with a couple of tenkara rods I am trying. This Aventik 15 lb test fluorocarbon is equivalent to a Japanese #5 line which works well for my inexperience tenkara casting. Usually tenkara lines are dyed to be more visible but I don't have any problem keeping track of my fly regardless of the line I use mainly due to the sun reflection off the line in the air (where you ordinarily keep a tenkara line). This line works great for me and after stretching a bit, lays nicely without curls or memory from the line storage spool. The price is great for tenkara lines at about $1.25 per line (using a 12' to 15' line).

Good line, but the picture is misleading. There is a bright green rubber band around the line. The line is clear. If you're looking for high visibility line like I was, keep looking.

It comes on a small 2.5" spool, like the tippet line I used to use when freshwater flyfishing for trout. It has the cool elastic cloth band to hold the line on when you pull some off. That was good because it fit into the breast pocket of my fly vest and I used it while wading. However I was using 2 lb test then. I got the 25 lb test here and am using it as leader line for snook and redfish. Now the small arbor produces a spiral look to the line because of the line's rigidity and memory. The line looks like 100% fluorocarbon, not the coated stuff. The knots tied true, and the spiraling went away quickly so I am happy with it.

I have no experience using fluorocarbon line, but have read that it has some advantages over monofilament line. I ordered eight pound test line, and I plan to use it as a leader with 12 pound braided line. This should work well when targeting bass or walleyes. It is supposed to have superior abrasion resistance than mono, and I hope that will reduce the number of lost lures when a northern pike takes my lure. The primary advantage of fluorocarbon compared to mono is it is less visible in water than mono. It also has less memory and hopefully will not tangle as easily, but that's not a concern if you are using it for a leader. It also sinks faster, which could be a benefit if you want a lure to go deep quickly.I noticed this line seems stiffer than mono. I have also read this stiffness makes it more difficult to tie knots than in mono. Two things impressed me with this line. I like that it came in a plastic case, and even more the elastic/cloth band to keep the line contained. This is especially useful if you are using it for leader material.
