This is the answer to a prayer. At my age, getting down to ground level (and back up again) is hard work. This is a good quality folding bench/kneeler. It has moderate padding on both the kneeler and bench side. Good enough to make kneeling ok for a 270 pounder (the seat padding doesn't matter). The device is plenty sturdy to hold my weight, both kneeling and seated - and provides good support for standing back up.

This is the second one of these garden benches I have purchased. They are wonderful if you enjoy gardening but you have issues. You can use it with the pad on the ground to kneel on and use the sides to push yourself up to a standing position. Plus you can use it the opposite way to sit down while you are gardening or trimming bushes or whatever task you must complete. This folds up easily and takes up very little room yet it is a mighty help if you have a bad back or knees. I love mine and have bought some for friends as well. They are just as pleased as I am. You cannot go wrong with this. I am a lot chunkier than I was when I was young and agile. This bench works for me and I weigh over 200 pounds. What a wonderful way to enjoy gardening again ❤️.

This is really helpful not just for working in my garden, but for other chores that require me to kneel, etc. I feel very confident and safe when using it steady myself as I rise up or lower myself. It is sturdy, light enough to easily carry around and the cushion is quite firm and provides great cushioning for my knees. It folds up very neatly and compactly and can be easily stored. I've already ordered another so that I can keep one indoors and another for outdoors.

Certainly looks and feels as described.I think the only item I didn't think about is the height. I have short legs, tall torso - so my balance is a tad off when I sit down to e.g. weed....

I bought this model because the sides aren’t quite as tall, I’m a relatively short woman. It works great! I can getup from the ground easily. Additionally, when sit on it, I can still easily reach the ground, so I can weed this way as well. I gave 4 stars for sturdiness because others complained about it being not solid enough, and I can appreciate this, there is a slight bowing of the sides when I use it to get up, but it has worked perfectly for me (130#) and I don’t anticipate any issues with it down the line. It doesn’t dig into my lawn either. I’m very pleased.

I have had a plastic kneeling/ sitting stool that I loved. However, over time the plastic became brittle and broke. This is the reason I switched to a metal one. I was afraid that the metal one might fold while I was sitting on it. I was surprised and pleased that the metal one had a secure folding mechanism that is sturdy and very easy to use. Great product.
