I ordered this Axlksia Mini Microscope for Kids and Adults for my twin 10 year olds as one of their Christmas gifts this year. They are very inquisitive and love exploring nature, so this was a great gift!In addition to being well made and plenty powerful, there are a quite a few reasons why we like it:•60X-180X MAGNIFICATION•CRISP & DETAILED VIEWING•INCLUDED LED LIGHT & PREPARED SLIDES•ALMOST NO SET UP TIME•EASY TO TAKE WITH YOU ON THE GO!This mini microscope is affordable, small enough for a kid to put in their jacket pocket, and excellent for kids to use without supervision! For less than $15 at the time of ordering, I am confident with my kiddos taking this with them to the park without having to worry about them breaking an expensive "toy". We highly recommend it!!!

Got this for our 5yo because she loves bugs and we thought this would allow her to more closely explore that world. It's hard to use free-hand and she's probably too young to utilize it effectively. For an older child, I'm sure this would be a lot of fun!

I got this for my kids (8 y.o. daughter and 11 y.o. son) for Christmas. They LOVE exploring things in their world, so this will definitely help with that. While it isn't necessarily the most powerful microscope, it will allow them to take a closer view of all those things they find in the backyard, and more. It appears to be very well made, and it will provide a lot of fun and education (without them even realizing it) for them.

This toy microscope is significantly higher in magnification than others because it doesn't use a camera and lcd screen. instead, it's simply a set of lenses with a manual focusing knob. the batteries (2xaaa) are used only to provide light via an integrated LED. as such, you actually CAN get very high magnification, much higher than the digital microscopes.however, note that the stand pictured in the manual cover is NOT included. this is not a huge problem as you can focus by simply using it in handheld mode (see pic of it standing on table). but that is still significantly less effective than if it came with the stand so light can go THROUGH the observed object.if it was not for that, this would be 5 stars.

My granddaughter cannot get enough of this microscope. It is perfect for the things we find in the yard, or things we find in the pantry that she can examine. It is the perfect start for your little scientist.
